A TIME FOR GROWTH AND EXPLORATION

I’m always looking forward to holidays. Those days are my favorite days of every year as a student. And since this semester started, I have had a couple of free days to myself but that’s what they were - free days which was even a trap. So, for this week’s Hivelearners topic, we are asked to share about our upcoming holiday, our plans, the duration of the holiday and expectations. For me, I have so many plans for this coming holiday although it won’t be that long but at-least I’ll have more days to figure out some things for myself both as a student and also my personal life.

My next holiday will be coming next two months which happens to be the month of June. According to my school’s timetable, this coming holiday won’t last more than a month. My plans are quite different this time. Normally, I’d want to go home and spend the holidays with my family but this time, I want to do it differently and see what I can make of it. As they say, you can’t do something the same way all the time and expect a different result. For starters, depending on how well I evaluate my performance after the first essay examination I’m writing next month, I’ll start reading and preparing for the next semester.

Secondly, I have plans of learning more on how to crochet. Here in my school, every student is given an opportunity to choose an entrepreneurial skill they would love to learn and I chose crocheting. I plan to get the basic equipments I need to start learning immediately after my exams and continue mastering it during the holiday. So technically, I might be spending this holiday with friends and well wishers this time or maybe a little with family too. I’m not completely certain of not going home at all though but if I do, I won’t stay for long. Maybe a week.

There are other things I plan to do during this holiday but I can only talk about them when the holiday is here. Maybe, I’ll also give some time to onboarding a few persons that are willing to not put me in trouble and also give some time to guiding them on what to do and what not to do.

And if everything works out well, I plan to take a tour around my school one day and hopefully I’ll share my experience on hive. My school is actually really big and there are so many interesting places that exist that most students will never get to or even know about. I don’t want to be part of those students who finish here and don’t know some places here. So, my plan on one good day is to explore the different places in my school and save that memory here.

I might also consider making hairdo for those who will be interested, to save some money and also exercise my hands too. But like I said, the holiday is not long at all and that means I might not do some of these things but these are my plans for this holiday and I’ll try my best to achieve more than 75% of them.

Finally, I’ll start working on my seminar topic too. I was supposed to have started my introduction by now but I have been stuck somewhere trying to find a way around it and now I just want to focus on reading and revising for my upcoming exams. Basically, I plan to use this holiday to make up for the things that I missed out doing during this semester. Let’s see how it goes.

Thanks for reading through. ❤️

You've got a lot on your plate regarding the next holiday and I'm wishing you all the best in accomplishing them, from the crochet learning, to reading ahead of the coming semester, exploring the school campus and spending quality time with friends and family.

I wish you all the best.

You have actually have it all planned out for your holiday and they are actually very productive. To be honest, when i saw you said you would like take a tour around your school, i remember i have been in my uni for over three years now and i have never visited some places, i have just been hearing about them. Maybe i would also give that a try and go to those places. Lastly, i hope you get to achieve all your plans successfully.

Here in our country too, we have similar summer holidays, so all the people go to the mountainous areas to travel because after working hard all year, the mind becomes very stressed, so for its relaxation, we should always select beautiful mountainous areas and go there and spend a few days. A student's life is not easy. He is fighting a personal battle as well as life, and there are tensions at school and at work.
