A NEW CHAPTER

Opening a new page in my life was quite a journey for me. At first I was so nervous and excited to see how this new page unfolds but then I got to realize that it was a page that will be filled with its own expectations. Become a student officially has always been something that I longed for because at some point in my life it felt like something impossible to accomplish.

The Joy that filled my heart was immeasurable the day I received my admission. I was so overwhelmed and at the same time there was this feeling of sadness too. I wasn’t sure where the sadness was coming from but then I knew I wasn’t due some reason but the good part was my joy outplayed the sadness that I felt.

In this new page, I got to discover that it is a new chapter for this soul. Now I have so many questions that I can’t even seem to find my words to explain or ask them but then I always knew when I’ve gotten an answer to a question. I’m so happy so far how everything has been, it feels way bearable than I’ve initially imagined. The part of this new chapter that I struggled with was trying to blend in to my new environment.

Wait don’t get me wrong, I’m a very easy going person at least when I want to be so it’s always easy for me to blend into whatever environment I find myself. But I always struggle with the thoughts of how it would be like changing my environment because I’ve already blended well with my previous environment. Living home for school was quite a challenge for me because I felt like I was leaving behind so many things and people and I just didn’t wanted to.

When I finally left home, I was welcomed into my new environment with so much love and support. I didn’t rent a new apartment since I already had a friend who was willing to have a roommate to help her cut down costs. She was so happy to have me around and just spending a night with her and her sister felt like that was how it has always been. I was welcomed with an open arm and they supported me in every way they could to help me feel at home.

I started my school journey trying to locate my department and also getting my clearance completed and that helped me go around my school to see how beautiful and stressful it was. I struggled for the first two days trying to locate where my faculty/department was and I was able to find it after moving to and fro a particular place twice.

One thing I love about my school environment is the beautification. According to what I’ve heard, the vice chancellor is someone tear values a beautiful environment so she never jokes with it. As you can see all these images except one was taken in my school premises. There are so many green to see because there are plants all around which gives the surrounding a sense of peace and quietness.

I do love my new environment but I also know how stressful this chapter of my life will be and I’m not so ready but I’m at least aware of it. I’m keeping the fact that what doesn’t kills me only makes me stronger. I’m not the first to get in this chapter of life so my plan is to learn from those that I’ve gone before me and hopefully get as much information as I need to get the power that I need to scale through successfully to the next chapter.
