Celebrating Filipino Culture in Style "Buwan ng Wika" Highlights.
Today, we celebrated “Buwan ng Wika”, or National Language Month in English. This event honors the diverse languages and cultures of our country and has long been observed in schools and government institutions.
Let me share what we did during today’s activity.
We arrived at school at 7:30 a.m., and the students were already assembled on the field, wearing a variety of costumes representing different cultures of our country.
I first took a picture of my child with his classmate.
Shortly after, the parade began. It lasted only about 20 minutes since it was held within the school grounds.
I was truly amazed by the effort some students put into their costumes-they were beautiful and charming. I did not put as much effort into my child’s costume this time because renting or buying one would have been expensive, and he did not want to participate in the dance presentation. I used a simple costume and, although I slightly regret it after seeing the other students, I hope for better luck next time.
After the parade, we arrived at the main venue for the activities. The sun was already quite hot, and since my son did not wish to attend his dance presentation-as he did not during the Nutrition Month activity-I chose not to stress myself by standing or sitting in the heat. Instead, I found a shaded area where we could sit comfortably.
The teachers gave a brief welcome, sang our national anthem, followed by an opening orayer then made an introduction before immediately starting the program.
Each section has presented a cultural dance, I took photos of each section’s cultural dance presentations.
Then when all the presentations are done, the teacher awarded the chosen 'Lakan and Lakambini' that represented the activity properly with their costumes and charisma.
The entire event lasted about an hour and a half. Afterwards, we returned to the classroom to share the food we had brought.
That concludes today’s celebration. Thank you for stopping by! ❤️

Buwan ng Wika is an awesome school activity. And those costumes are incredible, some are totally grand and some are simple. All of the children's costumes are with the help of supportive parents. It's amazing how supportive all the parents are, especially you. It's clear how much you love and support your kid. Another activity next month. 😍
