Saturday Savers Club Week 31 - a gain of 105 HP

avatar

Its week 31 (03/08/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club.

My goals for this year are:

  • Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,

  • Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to @eds-vote by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP.

This weeks pic - I went for a nice sunset walk along the beach through the week. The weather has been lovely all week here in Edinburgh - and I was lucky enough to catch some nice colours in the sky as the sun went down.

Weekly Investment Focus

  • I'm continuing to work on a flip between the price of HBD and HIVE for a decent gain in the future. I had been placing sell orders for all of the HBD payouts I got from posting at $0.21, and this week, the HIVE price dipped below $0.21 - so the first part of this flip has happened !!! I sold 65 HBD for 309 HIVE. I then placed the buy-back order (to sell the HIVE back into HBD) at the target price of $0.35. If it happens it will give me 166 HBD - an increase of 101 HBD. It could easily take months to happen, and hopefully it will - I just have to sit back and wait now !,
  • I'm continuing to focus on a number of play-2-earn games on the WAX blockchain - particularly Alien Worlds. The others are Prospectors, Brigade, Wombat DM, Realm and Planetary Defense. I'm also taking the time to stake some of the earnings and add to liquidity pools, so am beginning to build up another crypto income stream on the wax blockchain. This is coming along nicely - I'm enjoying it, but it will take a while to get to a decent level.

Weekly Stats

Weekly commentary

  • HP Gain: I gained +105 HP this week which is great. This comes from posting, HP APR, curation, and HP delegation.
  • HP goal: I need a further 3677 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. At 21 weeks to go, that requires 171 per week. It wil be tough for me to hit it - but I'll keep trying,
  • HP delegation to @eds-vote: I need to delegate another 306 HP to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. This is on track and I should be fine to hit it,
  • EDS: I gained +3.6 EDS. My EDS gains come from my HP delegation to @eds-vote and from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs,
  • HBD:HIVE Trading: As mentioned above, I had 1 trade go through at $0.21 to sell HBD for a big flip that I've been planning for about 2 months with the aim of buying back in at $0.35. It will probably take some time to go through, which is fine.

Summary

I'm always happy with a gain above 100 HP in the week, so thats great. However, I've not been posting as much lately (I'm suffering from posting fatigue). This is a shame, because the low price of HIVE really makes a difference with post payouts. If I'd been posting regularly over these last weeks, I would have made a huge dent in my annual HP target - so I need to get myself back in the rhythm of regular posting.

I'm still really enjoying exploring the WAX blockchain play-2-earn games and pools, particularly Alien Worlds. I'm going to keep pushing on these for the coming weeks to see how that comes along as an income stream.

And as a reminder:

  • This weeks Savers of the Week post went live on friday (here). The awards for those selected are quite nice ! We are looking for inciteful content that shows how you are saving, growing and investing. Each of the 4 nominees gets 15% of the notification post payout and 5 HSBIs - so it can work out as a nice little boost to all selected ! So make sure you are creating your weekly savings posts, and tagging them in the comments of the weekly post from susie-saver on the @eddie-earner account - you've got a very good chance of getting selected !

Among the WAX games you are playing, what do you find the most enjoyable and profitable? - I know that there's a good chance that the most enjoyable is not the most profitable, and vice versa... but you never know ahahah

Because I'm looking for a new game to add to the ones I already play and I'd like to find something which is outside Hive, to diversify a bit my investments.

!PIZZA !LOL

I'm rather obsessed with realm, so I probably find it the most enjoyable, but it takes a lot of investment to get going. To be fair, I also really enjoy Alien Worlds, and it is by far the most profitable (for me) - but to see that profit you do have to engage more with the community and get involved in other aspects like mission control, treasure hunt, mining competitions (so lots of discord interaction). Alien Worlds is interesting because for a long time I thought it was just about the mining and the mining front end - but there is so much more to it - but that exists on other web pages and on discord. If you are interested in Alien Worlds, let me know and I can drop you some handy links.
Cheers @hoosie

Interaction is not something I'm very good at, sadly 😅

for a long time I thought it was just about the mining and the mining front end

I thought the same and that thought is the main reason why I never started playing it... but now I'm so curious! It looks like there's so much more... and the game being on Wax is a plus for me, as I have some funds there... ahhhhh I have so many doubts 😂😂😂

I was the same. I actually registered for the game over two years ago, and basically never played it because I could seem to make no headway with just the mining interface. But there are so many other aspects to it beyond that, and that is where the profit is made (for me anyway). I enjoy it thats for sure !
