The keys to a possible 'Dumfries operation'.
Hi community!
The Catalan club wouldn't consider signing a right-back if it wasn't to bring in a decisive player.
The Dutchman from Inter Milan fits the profile established by the Barça sports department.
To prosper, the financial situation and fair play would have to be balanced.
Denzel Dumfries (29) has appeared among the players FC Barcelona is interested in, according to Fabrizio Romano, who points out that the Dutch defender has a €25 million buyout clause. Although Barça has expressed interest in his situation, they have yet to submit an offer.
Dumfries, a right-back who shone against Barça in the Champions League semi-finals with two goals and three assists, fits the profile the club is looking for in that position: a top-flight player, decisive and differential.
Barça has considered other names such as Vanderson (24), who was ruled out for not fitting the desired profile, or Andrei Ratiu (27), notable offensively but with defensive shortcomings. Marc Pubill (22) has also been mentioned, whose signing would cost around 15 million euros, but his profile is similar to that of Héctor Fort (18), already in the squad.
With Fort, Eric Garcia, and Ronald Araujo as options, the club would only consider signing a full-back if a truly significant opportunity arises. Dumfries is a perfect fit from a sporting perspective, but his arrival will depend on whether the club can make ends meet, as it has yet to return to the 1:1 rule for signings and salary investment.
See You soon!
