Raphinha opens the door for Nico Williams.
Hi community!
The Brazilian, who is one of Barça's captains, emphasized that the Basque player has "a lot of quality" and that "any player who comes to the club is welcome."
Raphael Dias Belloli, Raphinha (28 years old) is one of the most beloved players by the fans and also within the dressing room. Chosen as one of the captains last season, the Brazilian represented Barça for much of the season, due to injuries to Ter Stegen, Araujo, and De Jong, and exemplified Barça's values, defending his teammates and fighting like hell for the Blaugrana colors.
Following the likely signing of Nico Williams to FC Barcelona this summer, the Brazilian player didn't hesitate to open the door to the Basque player, even though he's coming to play in attack: "Any player who comes to the club to contribute is welcome. I think anyone who comes with the mentality of coming, working, and putting in the effort for the good of the team is very welcome," said the Porto Alegre native at a publicity event in São Paulo alongside his wife, Natalia Belloli.
The winger highlighted the high level of the current Athletic Club player and isn't surprised that the sporting directors want to sign him. "It's no coincidence that he's being considered to play with us at Barcelona and for the Spanish national team. He's a very high-quality player. He has a lot of skill, a lot of quality."
He assured that he's "very well" both physically and mentally to face the next season, which the Blaugrana team will begin preparing for in two weeks. "There's no room to be sad or dejected about anything, with the arrival of one or another. As I said, any teammate who arrives with the intention of working hard to help the team will be very welcome, both by me and by the other players. That's the most important thing," he insisted.
He also spoke about the Club World Cup currently being played in the United States and acknowledged that it must not be easy for players to put aside their vacations and play in high temperatures: "Forgoing vacations out of obligation is complicated. For example: PSG's Marquinhos and Beraldo played in the Champions League final, but they couldn't even celebrate properly. They traveled here to South America to play for their national team. The second match ended, and they came back straight to play for their club and play in the World Cup. They haven't stopped yet."
Raphinha, a friend and teammate of Neymar and Lamine with the national team and Barça, respectively, gave details about how the relationship between the two developed: "Lamine asked me if Neymar would reply to an Instagram message."
