Lamine smashes Vinicius's stats with the national team.
Hi community!
The Barça star surpasses the Brazilian in goal contributions despite having played 19 fewer games.
In his first two seasons as a professional footballer, Lamine Yamal has not only become the leading figure for Barça, but also for the Spanish national team. His progress seems unstoppable, despite the stagnation of Vinicius, whose level of play declined last season. The Brazilian has been overshadowed by Mbappé at Real Madrid and in Brazil, he has failed to take advantage of Neymar's absence to become a leader.
In fact, the Real Madrid player has never shone with the Canarinha, unlike the Barça star. This is reflected in the statistics. With 19 appearances and seven years younger than the Brazilian—something that is not usually taken into account when comparing the two players—Lamine surpasses Vinicius Jr. in goal contributions.
The young Barcelona star's debut with 'La Roja' couldn't have been better. It was in September 2023 when, at just 16 years old, Lamine scored his first goal in the victory against Georgia in the Euro qualifiers. Two years later, there's no question that the Rocafonda native is the best player in the Spanish national team. In his 22 appearances for Spain, the Catalan winger has registered six goals and 10 assists, averaging 0.73 goal contributions per game.
For his part, the Brazilian striker has seven goals and six assists in his 41 appearances for the Canarinha. This equates to 0.32 goal-scoring interventions. This difference highlights Lamine's superiority over the Real Madrid player in terms of international performance.
