"We're not as magnificent or as exuberant as people portrayed us last season. We are a great team when we work, when we all come together, but not when we're not capable of sacrificing ourselves for our teammates, which often happens," he said in an interview with Catalunya Radio.

The Portuguese player also went a step further in his reflection. "If we believe that quality comes before work, we have a problem," he concluded. Deco, therefore, sent a serious warning to the squad. Only with last season's style will they return to the Barcelona that amazed everyone. Otherwise, they will have a hard time repeating their successes.

The sporting director is, so far, the most authoritative voice who has spoken most forcefully after the Blaugrana's last two defeats. Particularly painful was the one at the Sánchez Pizjuán, where the team was unable to overcome Sevilla at any point.
