Blaugrana festival to debut.
Hi community!
Barça thrashed Alhama in their league debut in a collective display featuring up to five different scorers.
New season, same performance and feeling. FC Barcelona started the new season just as they finished last season: scoring and winning. The Blaugranas earned their first three points in the Liga F after beating Alhama CF ElPozo, newly promoted to the top flight, 8-0, thanks to a hat trick from Pina, a double from Graham Hansen, and goals from Aitana, Pajor, and Ona Batlle.
Pere Romeu's team showed no mercy to the Murcians and opened the scoring in the opening minutes. Graham opened the scoring after finishing with her back—yes, you read that right—a cross from Mapi León that was poorly defended by the visitors. Moments later, the Norwegian combined with Ona Batlle on the right flank, allowing Aitana, coming in from the second line, to finish first-time into the back of the net.
Halfway through the match, Ewa Pajor, last season's top scorer, opened her scoring, taking advantage of a gift from the Alhama defense. The Polish player, always with her rod ready, snatched a horrific clearance from inside the box to make it 3-0. Esmee Brugts could have joined the scoring, but her shot hit the crossbar.
The other full-back, Ona Batlle, did find the net. A thumping shot from the edge of the box straight into the top corner was unstoppable for Elena del Toro. The goal went up on the Johan Cruyff scoreboard in first-half stoppage time, allowing the Catalans to go into the break with a comfortable 4-0 lead.
After the restart, Romeu measured his efforts and brought on Laia Aleixandri and Aïsha Cámara, who made their debuts with the Blaugrana first team. Kika Nazareth also returned to the Blaugrana shirt, having overcome a serious knee injury. But the level didn't drop even a fraction, and the goals continued to fall: Graham completed his brace by comfortably tapping in a ball from Pajor.
Clàudia Pina, also coming off the bench, scored a hat trick in just half an hour: she scored the sixth with a perfect finish from a superb cross and found the net again, practically on the next volley, after hitting the crossbar. The goal was in doubt—not because it hit the woodwork—but because Alhama requested a review of the action due to a possible handball by Kika at the start of the play, but the challenge was not overturned. The third came just in the nick of time, when she pushed the ball into the goalmouth after a corner taken by Mapi.
