Glad it got sorted. With fleet vehicles, I wonder if the people driving them just treat them as an appliance, and it not being a "part of their job" to look after the vehicle.
I am not 100% sure if it is the case or not, but truck drivers can be fined for driving an unroadworthy truck, even if it isn't their truck (eg, they're driving the comapny's vehicle). It should be the responsibility of the person operating the vehicle in question to say "no", or "this needs repairs" as opposed to just ignoring a warning, or knowing that certain maintenance is due.

Agreed the driver should know the vehicle has to be safe and is his responsibility to make sure it is looked after. This is simple common sense..
The amount of new (<3 year old cars ) i see with broken indicators or brake lights is infuriating :D
