THIS WEEK'S PROMPT

Title: The Lies We Tell Ourselves.

As students, there are the big plans we had before resuming school and the various lies we keep updating every semester 😁. We keep on promising ourselves to take up a certain habit, like studying more, saving more, relating more with people, starting a small business within school, attending lectures regularly, and the like. But somehow, we never kept to it.

So, we would like to know that lie that you promised yourself to do but never get to keep by it. Feel free to share with us; be sincere, "we listen, we don't judge." 🫣

Tell us what you told yourself, why you came up with it, how long it took you to be consistent with it, the outcome of that which you didn't get to do, and how you or your friends who knew about it reacted to it.

Here's a snapshot from my life.
There was a time in my first year at school I resumed with the mindset of always reading and studying ahead of each lecture. Well, I don't know why, but I never get to stand by it. Guess it was laziness and procrastination that got the best part of me. Mind you, I had this decision together with my friends, and we all failed at it; we kept pushing study time forward and all until we weren't able to hold one group study, we didn't even get to read
/study what was taught in class until the exam came. And when it did, we couldn't ask one another to explain anything, as we were all busy doing what we call "la cram, la pour." The result was obvious in our results, as we all suffered it.

The truth is, we all have done one of those things. Won't it be interesting to read each other's confessions? 🫣. So, feel free to share with us in all honesty.

Tell us that which you promised yourself to keep but you gladly, sadly, happily, shamefully, and spectacularly failed at it.
