What Does Leadership Mean
If you define leadership by being better than the rest, you want to maximize every opportunity to be better.
So there is a very high tendency that once people are getting close to you in capacity, you become threatened. You must learn and know how to lead those who are better than you. If care is not taken, you will know the secret of success, but you don't want to share it because you feel you will fall off your throne once everybody succeeds.
There is a form of leadership that you are not able to lead people until you guide them. You have to break to lead. That demonstrates insecurity and low self-esteem on the side of the leader. You don't break people to lead them. You enhance people.
When you lead people, their esteem becomes more healthy because you don't show yourself to them. You show themselves to them. A leader shows you that you are more. He doesn't show you that he is more.
True honor in leadership is by showing people what they can become. So if a leader has low self-esteem, you'll be threatened. You will thrive on validation.
You want to be a true leader. Help people become better. That's your focus. That's what you are passionate about. That's what you are concerned about. That's your obsession. Even in marriage, you don't define masculinity with finance.
What if your wife is paid higher? Do you have the audacity to still lead people who have more than you?
It takes knowing that what you have is more than money that's it.
