FEAR IS MISPLACED FAITH

Fear is misplaced faith.

Hebrews 11 and 1 tells us that faith is a substance of things that we hope for, but it's the proof of what we have not yet seen.

In other words, you're believing that what you have not experienced, but the physical senses yet, you will in the future. The same way we set our alarm for the next day, not knowing if we'll actually make it. We make plans to go on vacation, not knowing if we'll actually live that long.

You know that the Bible says that the shield of faith is one of the weapons of our armor. But David said, the Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in him and then I'm saved.

This lets me know that there's a certain type of faith that activates our protection, our faith in the Lord, not in our outward circumstances, not in our fears.

We also forget that faith is a noun. And a noun is a person, place, or thing.

If the Bible says that faith comes by hearing, then that means whatever you hear, your faith attaches to it.

Faith comes by hearing and you hear by listening to the word of God. But if that's the case, then what was your faith attached to before you attach it to the word?

If you're afraid of something, you're having more faith in what could potentially harm you than God's ability to protect you and cover you. What are you hearing instead of the word of God in your ears?

Whenever you're presented with a situation that tests your faith. Is it that voice that tells you that you're not good enough to spread the word of God? Is it that voice that tells you that your past and your past mistakes are the ones that define you?

Is it that people-pleasing mentality that tells you your opinion doesn't matter and you just gotta overextend yourself to people that don't even appreciate you in the first place?

Is it that part of you that doesn't believe you're valuable enough to wait for a man of God or a woman of God that can value you the way that God loves you? Is it that voice that tells you that you're not smart, that you're not capable? Is it that voice that tells you that you'll never overcome this sin because you'll keep falling prey to it every day?

Whatever it is, you gotta close your ears to that and open your ears to what the word of God is. You are more than a conqueror through Christ. You are the head, not the tail. You are above and not beneath. You are a child of the Most High God.

Victory is yours through Christ Jesus. Redirect your faith to the one who conquered it all.
