Doing Good To All Men: MCGI TOPIC REVIEW
The teaching of Brother Eli , making reference to the book of Galatians chapter 6 verse 10, which calls out Christians to do good to all men, especially unto those who are of the household of faith.
This is just a reminder of a universal call to all Christians to be compassionate in their life. Bro Eli lay emphasis on a steady kindness to everyone as a Christian, regardless of their faith or religion, shows true love and service. This true love is not confined to those who are adults around us or our brothers, but also we should spread love to all the people around us who are facing challenges.
Because by doing this, we embody the Christ's love in the world that is often divided by race, religion, and interests. What captured me most in this Brother Eli's teaching is the fact that he distinguished between the priority of giving to the household of faith and also the need to help others.
What we meant by giving, does not exclude non-believers, but rather it should underscore a special responsibility that we must support our fellow Christians while still showing the same kindness to others.
This balance teaches us a powerful lesson that we must prioritize the needs of others also the way we prioritize ours. It reminds us that faith is not just a boundary or a limit for us being compassionate, but a foundation to expand our love and share our kindness to others.
Thinking about this, this means that offering help to someone who is struggling in your neighborhood or a stranger in need, or someone who may never share your belief with that judgment, is a true test of your faith in Christ.
The teaching of Brother Eli also prompted us about the motives behind our actions. Doing good is not just about trying to earn favor or recognition or trying to show off, but it is also you trying to obey the commandments of God.
With this perspective, you are just difficult from just being selfish to being selfless. You are aligning your actions to the way Christ wants you to do by applying his teachings.
This teaching challenged me to examine my heart, whether I am the one that gives or not, or I am the one that shows kindness to those outside my faith or outside my family.
Especially in the moment where I think of giving, do I really have the heart to give?
In today's world, this message feels very powerful and relevant.
It is a call on Christians to show kindness and love and service to others, even though they are outside our faith. Brother Eli's words inspired me a lot and it has encouraged me to live out my faith as if it were not just within the walls of my church or the walls of my home, but in every interaction with every person.
I want to show kindness to everyone, every day. By doing so, we will reflect God's love in our life and we will have to fulfill his commandments to do good to all.
