BUILDING A STRONG LEGACY
Proverbs 13:22
A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,
but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.
A scientific research has proven that over time, in the upcoming generations, some parts of the genetic information may diminish or be lost entirely.
Take for example, we inherit 50% of our DNA from each of our parents, but from the subsequent generations, it will be reduced to 25% from grandparents and 12.5% from great grand parents. As We go further to the fourth and fifth generations, the individual ancestors will only contribute a small percentage of the inherent genetic content in them.
The scripture has told that a diligent and good man will leave an inheritance for his children, and his children's children, which is his second and third generations respectively. It is normal for a first man to not have any influence over the fourth generation. The same way the genetic inheritance and information diminishes when it gets to the fourth generation, so also is how the wisdom, and things built by the first generation appreciates.
The questions now lies that, is there any possibility that a first generation can have a huge impact on the fourth generation?
If your answer is yes then you are right, it is possible. This all depends on how much and well you impact your second generation. As parents you main focus and aim is on your, because they are what you live in and they are your continuation here on earth. Don't focus on what you live for them.
Unfortunately, some parents have lived to see the downfall and destruction of the second generation due to poor foundation the first generation laid. The only thing that shapes the identity of the generations to come is what you live in them.
A Message to parents
Dear parents, you must raise and train your children so that your vision, impact or influence we not just be temporary, but will last from generation to generation. Always make sure they are a better version of you. Let them strife to be more better and powerful than you. Because, this is the only way that we can make sure that the fourth and fifth generation is not lost. The aim is to preserve legacy from generations to generations.
