A Beginners Guide To Reading The Bible| MCGI Topic Review

Brother Eli gave us an advice on how to read the Bible properly, and this gave me a new perspective as a believer of Christ.

Brother Eli's advice on starting first from the New Testament before moving to the Old Testament, I think makes so much sense. And he gave me another exciting approach to the scriptures with more intention on gaining more from the Word of God.

For me, Brother Eli is right. The Bible isn't just about flipping pages, trying to read every chapter very fast. It's about trying to meditate, digest and let the Holy Spirit guide you into understanding the deep meaning of every verse and chapter.

This idea alone feels very powerful. The way Brother Eli suggests beginning with the New Testament because are Christians that live under the New Covenant. Starting with Matthew and moving to Revelation will help focus on majorly the teachings of Christ, Jesus Christ and giving us the principles of Christianity.

His point is because he doesn't want believers to get confused by Old Testament laws like that of Moses which really hit home. So when we understand the New Testament first, we see how these laws and priesthoods changed when Jesus Christ came into this world.

In Hebrews chapter 7 verse 12, this explains clearly that this approach feels like a guideline that helps us get rooted in Christ while also preparing us to appreciate the Old Testament context later.

What inspires me the most is the idea of being renewed, discovering how the New Testament writers like Paul, Matthew, John and others build from the Old Testament prophecies.

When they say it is written, they are also pointing towards the Old Testament and pointing towards the prophets Isaiah and Malachi. It is like piecing together a beautiful connection that shows God's plan unfolding itself with time among believers and faith.

I am motivated to just reflect deeply and see how the Spirit guides me on understanding the Scripture more. The advice I brought earlier reminded that our time is very precious.

We should focus more on the teachings of Jesus Christ first ensuring that we are not just waiting but we too will grow spiritually. So this journey of intention, I feel I am ready to start it as a believer.
