![]() Posted In: Photography Lovers | Sublime and Beautiful Sunday flowers and plants This post is for SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108. I jhope life is treating you well Today I am again back at the Haskell Gardens here in New Bedford, and will share a few plants and flowers I spotted there on a recent visit. Starting with this fruit, which Google wants to tell me is a Rangpur which I have never heard of before, it kind of looke dlike an orange but was fairly small Sony A7iv 53mm F3.5 1/800 Sec ISO 100 a little bit about the gardens For over 30 years, lifelong New Bedford resident Allen C. Haskell cared for this property as a successful nursery. Haskell was so known for his horticultural talents that celebrities like Martha Stewart and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis were among his fans. After Haskell’s passing, The Trustees saved the property in 2012 to protect this unique urban garden from development. Today, the Allen C. Haskell Public Gardens feature six acres of carefully designed gardens, greenhouses, and one of the oldest houses in New Bedford, all arranged around a wide green common space — perfect for a sunlit picnic or to explore with a camera which is what I do :) I have shared shots of an empty greenhouse recently, but on this visit they had some plnts in one, and a few out at the end of the greenhouse NOw not being the gardener like my father was, who I am sure he would have bene able to tell me what this plant was, but alas I have no idea but it looked cool Sony A7iv 52mm F3.5 1/400 Sec ISO 100 and another plany in a pot, Google image search is beigng so helpful NOT LOL it told me ... |

![]() Posted In: Ladies of Hive | I'm a big fan of having my own house, and when it comes to choosing a house, one of the things that's certain I'm going to have around it is a garden. I've over the years had a thing for plants and planting, and that dates back to my childhood days when I used to follow my grandparents to their farm to do various things, and in that process, I got to learn a lot of things, especially the joy that comes from planting a small, tiny seed and watching It germinates something sometimes useful or beautiful, be it colorful flowers or vegetables; it's just an aspect of life that's therapy on its own because having it around gives us not just a beautiful sight to behold, but also fresh air, greenery, and even food. Through the years I've gained valuable experience that has made me confident that taking care of a garden won't be a problem for me at all. I've come to understand the importance of sunlight, when to water the plant, and even how much is too much. With all of my years of learning under my grandparents, my neighbors, and having my own farm, I've come to understand plants that love shade and the ones that thrive in the sun. While there are a lot of things that give one joy, I can tell you for a fact that walking into your backyard and seeing the results of your efforts and care alive and in good shape is a blessing on its own ... |

![]() Posted In: Hive Learners | The idea behind censorship has always fascinated me. The way people try to filter their words online, making it look clean when in reality, there’s nothing clean about it. When you go on Facebook and other apps these days, you see that many people already have it ingrained in them. They type their posts with censorship in mind, taking out certain letters and replacing them with special characters that will still represent the word they’re trying to spell. We see them do this all the time, and so far, we’ve all learned to read regardless. Censorship is now such a part of us that no matter how many actual letters are missing in a word, we’d easily know what they’re talking about ... |
