The Psychology Of A Leader....

I just sat there listening to him complain and gestulating, his hands flying the whole place as he speaks on and on about how he's doing so much, trying so hard to ensure that everything is working so well but it seems everyone else just folding their hands and watching not doing anything or showing concern, that everyone else is just relaxed and so okay with the situation ....

After he was done speaking the first person spoke up saying that he's the leader and we are the followers, we won't act or do anything except he's involved and gave the order for it, so he should not expects anything coming from us unless he gave the directives for it, several others spoke I just kept quiet observing the flow, I really did not want to say anything but I just have to air my thoughts on the matter so I was the last to speak.

Hello @Hiveghana hello everyone its another beautiful week and what an insightful topics to digest, how I wished I had seen this earlier .... however before Sunday I will attempt all, alright , I really loved the topic on leadership cause right at the hit of the moment was when I saw the prompt there I just knew it.

Here, we were all the guys in the corpers lodge having a meeting on how to resolve the pressing issue at hand, we've been battling with water and power outage in the lodge for over two months now, while we've had several meetings to address the issue and upon our leader the CLO (corpers liaison Officer) to negotiate and act on the matter with the school management on our behalf he's never really given us a positive feed back about how he's interaction with the school mgt went....

Here he was pouring out his frustration out on us at how he's been up and doing but no one cares...

I spoke last.......

I told him he needs to understand what it meant to be a leader of a group of people no matter how small, he's in charge, he's at the fore front navigating the course of everything unbehalf of every one, he's to call us and deliberate on the next course of action or brainstorm on what we to do, I told him I really did not want to like educate him on what leadership means or tell him what to do, of course he's the leader so he's ought to know better what ought to be done per time, instead of airing he's frustration out loud he's suppose to work with some able outspoken among us and see to it that what we are pursuing is actualized.....

I told him as a leader there is this burden on his shoulder, its a burden of the welfare of everyone in the lodge, so it's not just him and he's comfort or whatever now he needs to start thinking for everyone and come up with a strategic solution and means on how to get this done, if we've done one thing he's to come to us and say okay, this is what's been done, this is how far we've gone , now this is the next line of action, this what we are doing to effect this change and effectively see to it that the target and the goal is achieved.

You see this is some of the mistake we all do most times, we think of a leadership position as an office to start dishing out orders and just relaxed or get higher pay and good comfort and while others run around trying to fix things or do one thing or another based on the others we have given out.... thats a wrong conception of leadership.

Leadership is actually seating behind the wheel driving those in the car to a destination that's prescribed by either an organization or an office or a business venture ...or a personal business, as a leader you re the driver, there could be many route to the destination its now on you to decide which is best, shorter and quicker to reach.

One thing every leader must look out for is the perfect combination of effectiveness and efficiency in other to deliver the top most best results there is in getting a task done in its best possible outcome...

all companies and business in the world are looking for good leaders, but many bosses and people are unsuitable as such. However, good , bad or so so boss is boss even if they are wrong.
