HEARING BUT NOT LISTENING TO GODS WORD ||

The anchor scripture for these teachings by Bro Eli Soriano being Psalms 115:4-8 is self explanatory, this scriptures talks about the idols having all the complete sense organ like the ears, mouth, nose, skin, they have legs, hands but none of these are working they can't smell, can't hear, talk, walk or do anything just standing the way or posture they were made, so Bro Eli told us that those who make these idols or worship them are like them too, and thats true for some believers going to church hearing the word of God but not listening, i know some will likely misplace the two.

Ofcourse there is a big difference between hearing and listening, one is involuntary while the other is voluntary listening require that you pay attention, its like intentional hearing, that is listening..

I understand it that this is what most believers do, going to church seating under the preacher hearing but not paying attention seriously jotting some nuggets but soon after they left church and forgot about what was said.

recall the parable of the sower and all the four grounds, with the last one being a fruitful ground, these grounds or soil representing the hearts of men, and their different condition towards receiving the word of God.

To me since listening is about intentional hearing, paying attention to Gods word, these also tells the fact that the mind is connected to what is been said, if that is so, that means we can go further to do, practise the word so it bears fruits in ourlives.

The bible also said that those who just hear these word and do not do it, are liken to a man who just checked himself in the mirror and soon forget what he looks like, listening has a lot to do in ourlives so i encourage us to do more of listening than barely hearing..

The book of Acts 17:29 speaks about us not idolising God to be some gold or silver images, craven by man's device, this ought not to be so, lets change our mindset about idolising God or trying to make God into some form of images and worship them, they are not God and cannever contain God, they have all these sense organ but do not function, if we choose to cave these images and worship them as God, the bible says those who do these things are like those images both having ears, and mouth and and eyes and legs but cannot use any of them for anything whatsoever...
