Book Review : THE SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP
Take this to heart; there's a strong reason why I would read a book twice, obviously this is the second time I'm reading this particular book, not because there are no other books but because this book right here resonates with everything I strongly believe in and stand for.
I got to know more about purpose and creation early enough, I wasn't told or mentored, I just knew that there is a reason to everything, that nothing happens for no reason there must be a motive behind every action and inaction of man and creation.
I stumbled upon this book by Late Dr. Myles Munroe a very profound Leadership expert, life coach, mentor and pastor, the first time I read this book I was glued, it's like someone placing a magic mirror before me, and this mirror reflects the exact opposite of what I am currently, displaying what I have always thought about me, my future, my ambition, my prospect and vision for life, the more I read deep the more I was wowed at the things written down, it was like this is what I'm suppose to be, truth be told this book really really transtormed me in and out.
THE SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP is one book you should always have on your shelf, I would recommend this book a thousand times over because of it's very rich content, I love books like this cause it tells me the writer wasn't just trying to come up with something but a deep thought borne out of curiosity to truly find out what's more to life?, why are we here for what reason were we created, just to be born grow up have kids and die?, no there's more and that comes from the place of purpose discovery, which in essence is the inherent leadership spirit residing but laying dormant in every one of us..
the book anchor on two specific phenomenon first THE LEADERSHIP SPIRIT which according to the author is an inherent inborn ability we all have to lead, to be in control, to rule, take charge, dominate everything around us, including our environment, situations circumstances, the author derived this perspective from the great book of mankind The Bible, The Creator of all things Made man in his own image and likness blessed them to be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, dominate the earth, this was a spirit might, implanted in us to be in control and not the other way round.
Secondly the book hinges on THE SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP which doubles also as the tittle of the book, main anchor point and purpose of the book, the leadership spirit is utterly different from the spirit of leadership, i was kinda confused at first until I grab the difference, while the first leadership spirit is about an inborn ability to lead and to be in charge, the second The Spirit of Leadership talks about the attitude necessary to initiate the leadership spirit, see it as say the way leaders act, behave, what character they have and portray, how do real true leaders talk, how do they lead, cause since we are naturally born leaders we also have to learn and know how true leaders act .
this the author wrote extensively because of the huge gap we have in our world of true genuine, sincere, honest leaders which is what is highly sort after, he thoroughly distinguish between holding a position and understanding the main purpose for that position, a lot of people have so far confuse this to mean leadership and as such uses that position to manipulate, control, influence, rule over dominate others instead of serving the purpose they'd turn the table around and uses the opportunity for selfish gains.
