![]() Community: The Ink Well | The first time meeting with my mother in law was one of the most memorable moments of my life, even though the 12 hour road trip was a nightmare as I suffered from morning sickness throughout the journey, her warm welcome and affection melted it all. Mama, as we fondly call her, is an agile, beautiful woman in her early 60s, but one would think she was younger with the kind of strength she puts into everything she does. I was born in the city, so it was not uncommon for me to see some chores she did as very strenuous, for example, we had the gas cooker which made cooking easy for us, but in the village, they used firewood woods, which involved putting fire to some pieces of woods and often you have to bend and blow breeze into it or better still use a fan for it to ignite well so it can properly heat your food, and by the time you are done cooking, it wasn't only the food that would be cooked, because your hair and body would also have the smell of smoke. For this reason, I never really fancied cooking in the village though I often helped her out, being the helpful daughter in law I was, and also because even though the method of preparing meals this way was stressful it often ended up with a very unique, smoky and tasty local flavor that I loved so much ... |
![]() Community: The Ink Well | Growing up, my siblings and I didn't really have a fancy childhood. There were some things we rarely got, and snacks were one of those things. We loved snacks so much. Snacks were so special to us that whenever any of our moms or our dad came back with a nylon that crinkled in their hands, we got excited because new joy was coming ... |
![]() Community: The Ink Well | I was already a few miles from the airport before the weight of what I was doing landed on me. The quiet hum of the cab engine competed with the thoughts in my head. I leaned my head to the window with my eyes focused on the bald head of my cab driver, yet lost in my surroundings. The cab driver reached for the radio ... |
![]() Community: The Ink Well | There is a fantastic place where the mountains are blue and a silver river shines with the rays of the sun, while the dragonflies with transparent wings touch its surface as if they were kissing it, and then flutter around intoxicated with love. Multicolored butterflies fly there, sucking the sweet nectar of the daisies that adorn its shore. This place exists not only in my memories but remains treasured in my heart, because that is where I met Isis. The first time I saw her, I had left the house I had just moved into with my parents and my sister Teresa, very angry ... |
![]() Community: The Ink Well | It hits Ada when Eze tells her he now has a fiancée and she should not call him again. “As how “, Ada soliloquizes to herself, uttering out “why now “without even knowing. She thought maybe it was something like "April fool", but “this is June,” she said to herself, and couldn't bear to face the impromptu realization. From her perspective, she needs to push it off her chest so she locked herself in and indulged in the intake of champagne she ordered to pop up at tonight's supposed visit if Eze comes along ... |

![]() Community: Olio di Balena | I'm sorry I have been so absent here on Hive this past week. It hasn't only been on Hive, it's been pretty much everywhere that I've been missing in action as I've been trying to beat COVID round two. Probably more aptly named COVID Back with a Vengeance, or maybe COVID Second Blood. I've been struggling to get the energy to get this post put together, but I'm giving it my best shot ... |
![]() Community: Hive Learners | Banner created in canva The healthcare sector in Brazil has always been viewed favorably. Since childhood, when we ask a child what they want to be when they grow up, the most common answer is still: “I want to be a doctor”. This desire to work in healthcare, more specifically in medicine, is widely shared, which has contributed to a significant increase in the supply of doctors today. For a long time, the medical profession has been associated with high salaries and prestige ... |
![]() Community: Hive PH | Hi Hive friends, I hope you don’t mind me writing something personal today. I’m not really used to asking for help, but right now, I’m in a situation where I honestly don’t know what else to do. My heart is heavy, and my mind is tired. I’m just hoping maybe someone out there could hear us out ... |

![]() Community: Ladies of Hive | Hello, dear friends. One of the positive aspects of participating in this contest is that it forces us to think and remember. I think that's a great thing, considering that at my age, one starts to forget a lot. Hola queridos amigos ... |

![]() Community: Urban Exploration | "This is one weird way in", I muttered to @anidiotexplores. Talk about going the back way; 'the back way' had a hole large enough for a car to drive in, if you don't mind completely destroying the underside and slashing all the tyres. I have not seen bombed or war torn locations, but the rear of “The Red Lion" could come close. It was tough navigation, but we worked around the huge stone slabs, bricks, half destroyed wooden beams and entered the lower area of the old pub, which appeared to have been built on a steep hill ... |
![]() Community: Black And White | As seen at the wharf where the boat of my brother in law is stored for winter. Amsterdam, the Netherlands ... |
![]() Community: Black And White | The photos 📸 are my entry to the monomad contest from @monochromes and @brumest. Greetings, hivers. The sight of fishermen on Havana's Malecon is all too common. But today I went into the bay, where it is also possible to find them ... |
![]() Community: Photography Lovers | Somewhat similar to Emerald Lake in Banff National Park, this lake also has a gorgeous Emerald colour to the water. It was really a wow kind of experience. ![]() Community: Photography Lovers | Today, I want to share a new set of photographs I took a few days ago at my city's metropolitan park, specifically focusing on photographing dogs. This is an activity I genuinely enjoy, it's very relaxing for me because I walk through the park unhurried and without distractions, connecting with myself while doing what I love, taking photos! The first photos I'm going to show you are of an adorable Beagle that caught my attention because it had a cute red scarf. I asked its owner for permission to photograph it, and he agreed ... |

![]() Community: Sports Talk Social | The circus has started again Today, the first stage of the Tour de France 2025 was cycled. A 190 kilometer long stage from Lille to Lille, but with a risk of capsule because of sidewind. And the race didn’t disappoint, 20 kilometers before the finish Visma Lease a bike started pulling the peleton apart with a massive effort. It work and 38 riders got in front ... |

![]() Community: Foodies Bee Hive | Hello, friends especially foodies! One of special event that only held once a year in my city is Jakarta Fair or we called it Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ). Jakarta Fair itself is the biggest and longest fair in South East Asia and this time it would be held from June 19th until July 13th, not even a month. At this fair, we could see many interesting stalls and it sold many kind of things, but of course what interested me much was the food stalls there ... |
![]() Community: Worldmappin | Cikokol Park Last week I went around Tangerang city and stopped by several places, one of which was Cikokol Park. ![]() Community: Black And White | For today, I'm bringing you this series of photographs, where the surroundings, scenes, and motifs were found around the residence where I live. To give you an idea, it's a very popular place due to the eight towers, each 12 stories high. Therefore, there's a significant population here. This creates a lot of dynamics and interesting things to photograph ... |
![]() Community: Black And White | This is my entry for the daily monomad challenge On today's monomad challenge I want to share some photos of interesting insect species that I managed to photograph a few days ago. The first is a type of tortoise beetle, or better known as the golden tortoise beetle. It is a type of leaf eating beetle with the scientific name . The second is a type of biting fly, flies in the genus are somewhat different from flies in general which prefer stale food, whereas this fly prefers blood, especially liking to suck cow's blood ... |

![]() Community: Black And White | This town pulsates, transforms street by street, as if each corner you turn turns into a different chapter of a complex and everyday book in unison... You can find smiles in one street, or abandonment and loneliness in another... It is a changing town, with absolute silences occurring just a few meters away from intermingled noises... Sometimes I have the feeling that I invent all this in my head and then I have the strange power of photographing it ... |
![]() Community: Black And White | Greetings, dear friends of Hive I'm supposed to seek a certain harmony and cleanliness in my photos, but today we won't be going down that path. Today I bring disorder and chaos. How so? Yes, we will see a lot of clothes hanging on balconies, and not in the most orderly way possible, but they are already part of the everyday landscape ... |

![]() Community: Photo-essay | Time for a Holiday! we usually chose a different location to visit each year, in order to explore both the different places, and the different wildlife they contain. It might only be for a few days, but we aim to see as much as possible ... |
