It is incredible how the Europeans, when they arrived in Venezuela, sailed through the lands of "Santa Rosa de Agua" which coincidentally is Maracaibo and noticed that it had a geographical and landscape appearance quite similar to Venice, so it is believed that the name of the country originated from there.
