What I Look Out For

For everyone that one's to start life with some level of freedom, one of the first things to look out for is having a house of his own, either rented or the one he built himself. If all factors are equal, in my own opinion, I will encourage everyone to own a house because by so doing, his taste will be fully met to a good extent. But since things are not so in place the way we wish them to be, that is why we go for renting an apartment. Before I settled with my husband, he made sure to look for a house that at least I will like on theaverage.

The first thing I look out for before getting a house is my restroom. I am one person that doesn't want to share my toilet with tenants. From experience, most of the infections people suffer these days are from the toilet, and infections can be so unbearable for a woman. A woman can harbor an infection for years without knowing about it. The way I love my toilet to be kept different from another, so to avoid those kinds of classes, I better have my own so peace will reign. While in the university I lived in a general compound, so there were people to take turns, and keeping the restroom clean was difficult, so someone that is on the opposite side will always be the one doing it.

Another thing I look out for is a house that is enclosed; by this I mean a house that has almost everything inside my restroom and my kitchen, so I will not always go outside for those vital things. Imagine I want to prepare something in the kitchen urgently at night so everyone will get to know. I remember when I was about to give birth to my second child, I had to wake around 2am to get some things ready in the kitchen. So if it were to be that my kitchen was outside, everyone would know what was going on. I finished before 5am and went back to bed, so when I gave birth around 11am and people came to greet me, when they asked if they should prepare pepper soup and some other dishes, I told them I had already done that. They were so surprised. So my privacy is key when looking out for a house to rent.

One other major thing that just has to be in place is water; water is very important. So either I have a water borehole in that compound or access to water is so close. In my area people suffer so much for water, and I am that one person that will not want to go so far to get water because it can be so frustrating. Water, they say, is life. One other thing that has to be in place in the house I wish to rent is light. Aah, light is so important. Most times I wonder how I will be able to cope without light because I don't prepare major dishes on a daily basis. At times I sit to wonder what would have become of me if I didn't have a deep freezer available because warming my soup always is not my thing, as I prefer to retain that fresh taste always.

One last thing I want to be in place is going to a compound that doesn't have many people. Some compounds can be so noisy because of the number of tenants there, and that is not good at all for raising kids. That kind of place will have a lot of influence on the kids, so it is better to have a better place with fewer tenants there. In my compound are three flats, one for the landlord and two for tenants.

One thing I didn't consider, which I see as a little issue, is living in the same compound as the landlord. I don't know about others, but to me it is not too good, especially with my kind of landlord.

When a man's choice is met to a high standard, there is this kind of peace and joy that comes with it. Though my prayer is to have my own soon, I always do my best to maintain the house well. We grow from level to level. Thank you for reading.

What you are looking out for in renting a house is quite true. The rate of disease and infection these days is alarming hence sanitary or toilet must not be taken for granted. Having a good rest room is good and very important.

So alarming, most of those that have these diseases don't get to know till it becomes so chronic.

Omo! I even feel like we've past the time when one will find a house that will require you to go out for vital and private things, except the person is looking for the cheapest house.

That part about living with your landlord in same compound is a really bad idea for real. It's not just you who have said same from that experience.

That's it, we have grown pass that level. My dear, that was a mistake that won't repeat itself
