This Knowledge Is For All, The World Is Moving
In our world today there are various courses that are rated more valuable than the others. Even today most of the subjects or courses we offer from nursery to tertiary institutions are not relevant. When I say that they are not relevant, I mean to say there is no real-life application. The argument now is, what is the use of studying courses that afterwards one can't apply? That amounts to a waste of time and money. Welcome to Nigeria, where you will see a medical doctor in the bank or even an engineer in the primary school.
Hello family, happy weekend
The world presently is a global village, and technology is taking over almost everything we do. This is why I stand with the opinion of teaching coding and tech at diverse levels of education in my country. Technological skills are a highly needed skill in our world today; this is the reason why they just need to be infused into the curriculum ranging from nursery school in my nation today. Why it needs to start from the preschool is that knowledge is a buildup, and at the tender age, the brains of the children are still open.
That is, in education, it is called tabulaa (it is plain as a clean slate), so whatever information you input there is what it will build on. When they are advanced in age and class, they will have a better grasp of what they have been relating with. Coding has a way of building and equipping the skills of anyone who interacts with it to face the world today. There are different skills that are built as a result of coding and tech. Many people see reading codes as a very difficult task to be done, so by this the students get to have the skills of solving problems.
Giving solutions to problems is not possessed by everyone, so as the minds of the students get developed, they learn how to proffer solutions to any challenge they are confronted with. You see children who are more open and allowed to solve their own problems do better than Dad and Mom kids who depend on their parents for everything they need. Having the knowledge of coding and tech helps the children to be well fortified for what challenges they may be faced coming days rather than studying a course that is irrelevant to where they are going. They can also learn how to apply what they have learned to any given situation.
The kids will go a long way to also know how to make something out of nothing because that knowledge of solving problems is already there. It feels like weeks ago I made contact with a friend so he could link me to where I can go and learn coding.
At my age now, I am just viewing it as though my brain won't grasp it fast. Well, after much deliberation, I decided to let go of the whole thing and decided I will do better for my kids. I told this story to say that my kids will have this knowledge of coding and tech so early, so it will help them face the future properly.
As a way of summary, coding to me should be made compulsory for every child in the school. Because coding is not an easy subject, I may say a lot of children will not like to associate with it, just the way students run away from mathematics; it will be the most dreaded now. But if the teachers could teach the children with lots of encouragement, the ones that will fall in love with it will get to continue. But I have a fear, my dear, that it may come to a time that it will be so common that there will be lots of abuse. But before it gets to that level, let it be compulsory.

I totally agree with you, coding must be compulsory for children in school because in the future it can help them.
Yes my dear, it will be of a good help
You're right, most of the things we were taught in school don’t really help us in real life. It’s frustrating to spend years studying and still end up doing something completely different. Teaching coding from a young age makes sense, especially now that everything is moving towards tech. It’s better to give kids skills that can actually help them survive and succeed in today’s world.
It pains so much my dear. Am glad that I know a little so my kids won't be in the dark
For me I feel kids should be allowed to choose and not just forced to learn coding and coding alone, there are many other teck skills they can venture into.
Not as if they will be forced, but just the way mathematics is exposed to them coding should be done the sameway
