My Take On Gender Balance

Many people have raised their voices to speak about this subject on different occasions and platforms; the question still remains if it is possible to achieve this anytime soon. Talking about gender equality, it is giving birth to men and women with equal rights when it comes to matters in the society and at home. This is to say, a woman will be allowed to take up the same position that a man will take without being discriminated against.

Many societies and people in them have remained the way they are because there are lots of rules that are against the female gender. In many cases the oppression is too much, and I have come to question lots of things that happen in the society. I have said this over and over again: most of the rules that are being made are against the woman folk. Women have been made to be relegated to the background, ranging from the home. So comes a home where a man is assumed to be the lion of the tribe of the home and the woman has no say in anything that is going on in the family.

Even when she tries to speak up, she is shut down. The bitter thing about this is that at the end she and the kids will now be at the receiving end. They get to suffer for the wrong decisions of the man.In a sane society, both genders should be treated alike. I say this to mean that a woman should not be discriminated against. Looking at the present time, so many women go all out to see that things go on well in the family, and then you see a man who does basically nothing still want to control how everything is done.

That's a no for me. Even if she does nothing and the man brings all the food home, her voice should also be heard.To an extent, I blame my gender because I have seen lots of women who refuse to develop themselves, so it gives men that leverage to handle them anyhow. I belong to a group that most of the members there are men 😱; presently they are looking for a way to balance things up, and most women that come around don't want to be involved because they feel they can't represent well. How will you be given the same leverage that is being given to the men when you refused to step up upstairs? It is not possible.

How will you be given an opportunity when you can't contribute meaningfully in a discussion?Gender equality means offering the same opportunity for the same gender without denying anyone the right to represent. To an average man, it is picking first before the woman even when it is the woman that needs to pick.

Coming to financial responsibility at home. Many homes these days have been torn apart because of limited understanding when it comes to finance. My gender most times feels the money they get is for them, and the man's money is our money, which is a bad thing for the home. In as much as two persons agree to stay together as one, there should not be disparity when it comes to finance; understanding should guide the operation at home in all aspects. There are men who never tell their wives when they have money for fear of billing.

This is a hot topic; I can go on and on, but let me just stop here with these last words: value to humans should not be defined by gender. Thank you for reading.
