Homework Is Work But It's So Important For The Kids And Parents

Good day, my lovely people. I do wish you a happy midweek that is filled with love and blessings.Just this week's Monday we went back to school. It was a missed feeling because I was somehow happy that the kids were going back to school, and due to my present condition, it will give me some time to rest my head before they return.

Then another thought of waking early in the morning to prepare them for school makes me feel as if the break should continue. So today's topic is all about us.Homework, tests, and exams are ways the teachers and the students use to test and improve the learning of the students. It will be so difficult to attest to the fact that a child is doing well without giving the child something to do.

One problem I had last term was the fact that my son's class teacher was giving so many assignments to the pupils, and that made me wonder if she had any time to teach them. That challenge notwithstanding, I fully support the child always returning home with an assignment. Not only that it helps the kids to learn more and improve understanding, but it also helps them keep themselves busy, as their passion for learning will increase with time with regular engagement.The Monday that just passed was the first day of school for the term, and my son's teacher gave them a take-home assignment in mathematics.

Usually, there was this method of addition and subtraction I was teaching my son, which he couldn't grasp. I was surprised when he was solving his homework with the same method with just a little assistance. In order for them to be so familiar with their schoolwork, we made it compulsory that they revise the homework before breakfast, and for these two days it has worked perfectly.What homework does to schoolchildren can't be underrated; the only place I need some adjustments is for some class teachers who use homework as an escape route not to teach the students well.

In a way of conclusion, it is of no importance if a child cannot translate what she was taught in school at home. In the real sense of things, the curriculum needs to be so balanced because there are children who will not be able to relate so well in the four walls of the classroom but do wonders at home; the educators know this so well. Most parents focus on position and forget to check the questions and ask the kids to be sure they know or don't know what was asked. Just last term I was able to discover the kids' strengths and weaknesses, and this term I have resolved to be on it till I see a change. Homework helps to build this parent-child connection, which will go so far if we take it seriously and not take it as a way of disturbance to us. I know it is not easy in most cases, but it is a sacrifice I feel every parent who means well for the kids should pay, and I am not going to employ a home tutor again.
