Everyone Needs The Library

Everyone needs a library. A library is a place that is equipped with different resources that help in the academic pursuit of those who come around to make use of it. Usually, the government goes ahead to build a place and equips it with different materials, which helps the citizens to conduct research and get more advanced in knowledge.

The library is so important because not everyone has the capacity to buy all the books he or she needs at home, but the government, with the state's resources, gets the facilities equipped and then makes it available to the citizens. Both government- and privately-owned libraries do have some rules that guide them. The essence of putting these rules in place is to make sure the facilities are not abused. Casting my mind back to the days we used to visit the Abia State Library, the first thing you get to see before you access the building is no noise.

The library is viewed as a place where people leave their comfort zone in order to gain maximum focus to study their books. So the rule that noise is not tolerated is fine because it won't make sense that someone left her convenience and came to meet distraction in a place that should give much serenity.Another thing that is worthy to note is that everyone is allowed to borrow books from there, but there are guidelines one has to attain before he or she is allowed to go with such materials.

One is to show his identification card, and a particular time and date are given by which the book is expected to be returned. If there is anything that is done against this, then there is a fine to be paid.In this present time that the internet is taking over almost everything we do, it makes it difficult for people to visit the library because they feel they can easily use their phone to gain information faster. My boy in the secondary school always comes home with his assignment asking me to help him with my internet so he can access the answers online. One of the days I refused that offer and told him to make use of the school library.

The school library is equipped with varied resources, but because of some lazy attitude from the students, they find it difficult to visit the library. It is so heartbreaking to note that some people graduate from the school without knowing the location of the school library, which is very bad.I am of the opinion that the library should be maintained and the students encouraged to always visit there for further learning, as the internet has made a lot of them so lazy.

Instead of saying the library should be scrapped, I will say it should be equipped with modern facilities, which will serve as a motivation to the students because if the students see that the cost of using their gadgets to access information is high, they will go for the school facilities.

No matter how how weathy a man feels himself to be, he still needs the library because one may consider having those books at home to br space consuming but when its in at the designated building it makes it easier. My entry to the second edition of this weeks contest. Thank you for reading
