A Glimpse Into My Childhood Yuletide Memory

Memories and childhood are two inseparable entities and I can tell why it is that way. One adage in my place say, "a child that is back does not know that the journey is far". They say this to me that children do not no the pain of anything, what they just want to have is whatsoever they just wish and they press till they get it. They do not know the value of anything, so even if you are telling them that there is no money they won't just understand it totally especially when they are hungry.

Our parents then will be thinking of what we will eat or even school fees but what's just in our heart is how we will travel so as to meet up with our cousins, uncles and aunts because we know that money will flow suite in as much as we go visiting from one house to another.

Christmas is here again but this time around am walking through it as an adult so my kids are just on me asking when they will travel, they want to go see new places and meet with their grand parents but I don't just feel like going to see anyone at the moment. I feel like staying in doors. Haha, is that actually possibly with all these little ones? It is certainly not possible. So for this second edition of this week's prompt I will be recounting one of the fun times during my childhood days.

One good time I can quickly recount now is the Joy Fair we use to have at the ministry those days and it is usually during the Christmas period. Joy fair season is the time kids are taken to the park to have some fun. Lots of bible and cartoon characters are brought during this program.

Children Evangelism Ministry in different zones organize this for their children. We are all given ten tickets and each ticket represent a game, so when you use up your ticket that will be all. There are games that a prize is tired to the top winners go home with gifts. We also get to see Santa in his boat and receive gifts from him.

We all look forward to this day and make sure that our parents pay for it. This is a little token that everyone is asked to pay and the essence is I'm order to aid preparation for this event. We are all encouraged to dress in Christmas colour to represent the season. No child want to miss the CEM Joy Fair because the event is just well packed with activities and it is always at the children park where you get to see children things that will make the time worth it. When it's getting to even you even see some children crying because they are already missing the fun filled activities.

If childhood is a journey I will like to journey to my childhood and so as to experience some of those joyous time. But the divine made it in such a way that one can not return to the past. There are many more memories which I can recall but for the purpose of this prompt I just spoke about one. Thank you so much for reading.
