Life is a competition, For one to win in this life there are rules to win everything in life. There's competition everywhere- career, business, etc. there's no facet of life without competition.
Remember that what you are doing, someone else is doing it somewhere. Everyone in life wants to win because winning is simply achieving success. There is one thing I understand, winning is personal.
It is not easy to win everything but I have heard from some that said, “I have never lost an election." He was elected as a governor of a state twice; and the first time he contested, he won- that was his first elected position.
imagine someone who has never been in any elected position, contested for governorship election and won.
After his first tenure, he contested for the second time, and he won; he spent 8 years as a governor.
He contested for the President for the first time and he won; even though a presidential aspirant contested for 4 consecutive times.
This is indeed a success and for me he won everything.
When he was asked during the manifesto that, you are competing with aspirants that have contested for several times, and someone that was picked as vice-president also running for president in different parties. How can you win against them as the first time to contest for president?

He said, “I have never lost an election, and I will not lose this one. I have been working for more than 20 years to be a president. My work has not just started, it has been over 20 years ago. I worked 24 hours to be the president of this country, and I will never fail. I'm the most qualified candidate for this job; I have everything to make this country become great; and I'm 100% sure that I will win. You people should go and relax, it is my turn.”

I wasn't expecting him to become president, after several days, he was announced as the winner.

Preparation For Opportunity
People have missed opportunities because they lacked preparation. It happened In my school last week, one of the best science students in my school failed an assessment test for a science competition (Toleram). The Competition is done once in a year, and a school that wins will be given money and all the students that participate will be given free scholarships to any Tertiary institution of their choice.
Because she is the best student, I used to tell her to be prepared for any competition. When all the science students were assessed last week, she scored 2/20; and that was how she was dropped.
I have been telling her for more than a year to prepare for the competition. I told her the period and she knew because she witnessed how her seniors were selected last year. But, I missed it because she wasn't prepared for it.
The Students that scored the highest mark in the assessment test happened to be the students that used to take 2nd and 5th positions.
As an individual, to win everything in life, you have to work on SMART- set clear goals, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and time-bound.
You have to carry the mentality of winning not losing.

Tough and Failure
Have it in your mind that Success doesn't come easily.
You have to force success in yourself! you have to fight for it. If some successful men in business and career are speaking about the road of their success, you may not want to be like them.
I heard a pastor that said, “I fasted for one year for the growth of this church and I was coughing blood. My wife told me to break the fasting but I rebuked her. Exactly a year, I ended the fasting and prayer and I heard the voice of God speaking to me of what to do. If I broke the fast when my wife told me, I might not have heard that voice.”
Today, he's the richest pastor in Africa. God took him from grass to grace.
The road may seem tough but be focused on your goals: Failure may come but never allow the failure to wean you down. People have given up on the verge of breakthrough because of failure. Believe that failure is part of success and continue to pursue your goals. Use failure, toughness and setback as opportunities for growth.

Align Your Purpose
This is what I mean, if you are good at signing, and you have been practicing it. Put everything to it, make sure everywhere you are should be an environment that creates opportunity for you to sing. Walk and work with friends of the same goal; play and practice with people of the same goal. Get along with people that can help your career!
Don't be in a mechanic workshop when you know that your talent is singing.

Be intelligent Emotionally
It is good to manage your emotions and others around you. It creates a good atmosphere, makes you friendly and makes others love you. Be positive - always look at things with positivity. Be effective in communication, adapt, be able to change for good, and be oriented. develop healthy habits, make wise decisions and be mentally okay.

Read Books and research
New knowledge emerges from old knowledge! Web 2.0 emerged as a result of Web 1.0. If there was no Web 1.0, there may not be web 2.0.
Today, we have Web 3.0, all the following was achieved due to research on the previous knowledge.
Therefore, get books and research on a particular career you want to build. Do it consistently without giving up. seek help from those that have successfully and do not let their opinions get you down.
There are some people you will like to hear from them, and they will keep on telling you the negative side of it. They will never tell you something that will motivate you.
A Friend of mine was fortunate to meet a superstar in his career. He told me that, “That superstar is a sadist and pessimist. He was telling me about negative aspects of his career just like he doesn't want anyone to be like him or above him. I was highly disappointed in him! I loved him, I have more than 100 of his video clips on my phone. I'm deleting everything. I can't take him anymore as my role model.”
