Las geociencias son una parte importante de la sociedad, mediante su estudio los geocientistas podemos encontrar formas sostenibles de extraer y procesar de forma segura los recursos minerales de la Tierra y evitar futuros problemas medioambientales más graves que los ocasionados hasta el momento.
