Our Progress On Hive

As you can see from the screenshots above, @gestion.alive has removed their HP delegation, as planned, in order to focus on their own curation projects.

This caused our voting mana to drop a bit, but nothing serious — it’ll bounce back soon

So, from now on, we’ll stop manually powering up HIVE and instead let our Hive Power grow naturally through our future curation efforts. Letting it grow on its own, like a big boy

With an average of about 2.3 HP gained per day, that gives us a natural increase of around 839.5 HP per year, which is quite decent — and that’s not even counting compound interest. Since we’ll be earning slightly more each day as our HP increases, our daily rewards will naturally rise too.

Let’s also not forget the 3.012% annual APR from Hive Power’s built-in inflation. Not bad at all .

At the moment, we’re focusing on liquid HIVE, just to reward ourselves now and then with a small cashout. We almost never take anything for ourselves, so treating ourselves to a few dollars for our ongoing efforts feels fair, right?

Later on, we’ll start putting aside some HBD. It’s not our main goal at the moment, but it’s definitely in the plans for the future.

As shown in the last screenshot, we don’t have any savings yet — and no, we’re not dreaming of earning a full-time minimum salary from Hive just yet. To achieve that, we’d need around 120K HBD in savings, unless we win the lottery or get a very generous donor .

But let’s be more realistic: our goal is to reach 3500 HBD in savings one day.

Why 3500 HBD specifically?

Because that would allow us to cover our monthly Internet bill — one less expense would already be a nice win!

Sure, earning 3500 HBD per month is nearly impossible at our current level, but just dreaming about it keeps us motivated
