In my previous Hive post, I shared about finally acquiring my Bambu Lab H2D printer. Since then, I’ve been exploring ideas and designs that could be fun to try out—and while browsing through MakerWorld, I came across something really interesting: a cat food dispenser.

The Design

This isn’t my original build, but the concept immediately caught my attention. The dispenser is designed to release cat food in controlled portions, making it easier for pet owners to feed their cats on time. The clever part is that it prevents pets from spilling or overeating, since the container keeps the food secure until it’s dispensed.

I thought it was a great example of how 3D printing communities like MakerWorld provide creative solutions to everyday needs. Seeing projects like this makes me even more inspired to put my H2D to work on practical prints in the future.

As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to have simple tools that make daily routines smoother. I may not have built this dispenser yet, but it’s now on my list of possible prints. With the precision and speed of the H2D, I’m excited to eventually try designs like this—whether for my cat’s feeding time or for other household hacks.

Looking Ahead

Finding this dispenser reminded me that the real strength of 3D printing isn’t just about making flashy objects, but also about creating useful, real-life solutions. For now, I’ll keep collecting ideas from MakerWorld and gradually work on printing projects that fit my needs.
