RE: The Impact Of Gifting Money To Kids

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Children are so receptive.
They are like tabula rasa.
Empty slates
So, whatever you show or teach them, they capture.
Likewise whatever you act or behave as an elder around them, they mimic.
So, with this in mind, we owe all kids around us good lessons and good examples and good exposures.
On that note, gifting kids money demonstrates and act of love.
But teaching them savings and judicious spending nurtures them into prudent adults.
One bad example some parents show their kids without realizing it is borrowing such gifted money back from them, lying to them that they are going to be paid back and never paying them back. I don't know if anyone had such experiences as a kid?🙂
It's a bad example
You have succeeded teaching them lyiny, deceipt, and infidelity from that single act.
You may think it's normal or that they are just kids, but I tell you, the assimilate these slowly into their subconscious as they grow into adults.
We have got the responsibility to teach every kid around us good values and we even do that more by living exemplarily.
Regards🙌

You are right, I was also a victim of that as many other kids, it isn't a good example at all.
Hopefully, guidances would do better in these things.
