Yesterday, I went to our backyard which was filled with the rustling banana leaves as my father did his usual garden routine. He is deleafing the banana trees. It’s one of those simple yet important tasks that help the plants grow healthier. He removed the dried and dead leaves so new ones can freely grow and the banana tree can focus its energy on producing fruit.

As I watched him work, I took photos of him doing the job. He’s been doing this since I was young, and even now, every movement shows experience and care. Gardening for him is not just a chore. It’s a way of life, something that connects him to the soil and to the quiet joy of seeing things grow.

This bananas were planted by him. He also have a small banana plantation in our farm 2 kilometers away from our house. It's where he harvest bananas for sale.

While these bananas are purely for personal consumption. There are more or less ten banana trees here. And some are ready for harvesting soon. But yesterday, there's one tree which its fruit bunch is hanging low already, heavy and full, waiting for the right time. So, after my father did the deleafing he proceed on harvesting the banana.

Our banana plants have been part of our home for as long as I can remember. Whenever a big flood happens, we prepare new banana to be planted. Because this part is easily flooded since it's beside the river.

These trees give us food, shade, and even joy. Sometimes, we use the leaves when cooking traditional dishes, or wrap food during special occasions. It's a proof that nothing from the plant ever goes to waste.

Simple moments like these remind me how life in the garden mirrors life itself, growth, care, patience, and the rewards that come in time.

That’s how my day went in our little backyard. Productive and full of gratitude for nature’s endless blessings.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading this far. Til my next post!

It’s really nice that the plants you worked hard to grow are now bearing fruits. Free snacks that’s so delicious. I hope you can harvest more!
