Here's my entry for BeerSaturday 416 with the second beer a friend brought back from his trip to Japan, Premium Yebisu from Sapporo. I love this friend 😀 For BeerSaturday 412, I already presented another beer from Japan, World Kanpai Beer, specially created for the Osaka World Expo.

Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 416 avec la deuxième bière qu'un ami m'a rapporté de son voyage au Japon, il s'agit de la Premium Yebisu de Sapporo. J'avais déjà présenté pour le BeerSaturday 412l'autre bière offerte, la World Kanpai Beer, spécialement créée pour l'Expo Universelle d'Osaka.

Premium Yebisu is brewed by Sapporo, one of Japan's leading brewers, founded in 1876. The Yebisu brand was created in 1890, giving the name to the Ebisu district of Tokyo. In the world of Sapporo, Yebisu is positioned at the top end of the market (hence Premium), with brewing further afield and quality ingredients, exclusively malt and often European hops.

La Premium Yebisu est brassée par Sapporo, l'un des plus grands brasseurs au Japon fondé en 1876. La marque Yebisu a été créée en 1890 qui a donné au nom du quartier de Tokyo Ebisu. Dans l'univers de Sapporo, Yebisu est positionné dans le haut de gamme (d'où le Premium) avec un brassage plus loin et des ingrédients de qualité, exclusivement du malt et souvent des houblons européens.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

Premium Yebisu is a lager with 5.5% alcohol. In the glass, you get a nice golden color with a thick, white neck. I like it 😀. You can smell malty notes with a light floral touch. On the palate, this lager stands out a bit with a strong bitterness at first but then balances out thanks to the floral note. Good everyday beer... but this will be my only one, no trip to Japan on the agenda.

La Premium Yebisu est une lager avec 5.5% d'alcool. Dans le verre, on a une belle couleur dorée avec un col épais et blanc. J'aime cela 😀. On sent des notes maltées avec une légère touche florale. En bouche, cette lager se démarque un peu avec une amertume forte au début mais qui s'équilibre par la suite grâce à la note florale. Bonne bière de tous les jours... mais cela sera ma seule, pas de voyage au Japon prévu à l'agenda.

Design

Design-wise, it's not my style, a bit too much writing all over the place, but it's true that there's one part in Japanese and another in English. The only element I like is the fisherman. After research, it's Ebisu, the Japanese god of fortune, patron saint of fishermen and merchants.

Au niveau design, ce n'est pas mon style, un peu trop d'écriture un peu partout mais c'est vrai qu'il y a une partie en japonais et une autre en anglais. Le seul élément que j'aime bien c'est le pêcheur. Après recherche, il s'agit Ebisu, le dieu japonais de la fortune, patron des pêcheurs et des commerçants.
