Many things can be achieved through focus, especially in each set. We often make the serious mistake of not concentrating while training, and even worse, not concentrating right before performing a set, whether it's basic, static, or even dynamic. That's why today I want to talk to you about the importance of focusing on what you're doing, especially when training. I'll share some tips based on my personal experience that can undoubtedly help you not only in calisthenics, but in any discipline. Because what I'm going to share here is, to me, worth its weight.
Today I worked on one of my many routines focused on strengthening the plank, and while I was doing it, with each set I focused on which muscles I should activate, which joints needed more attention, whether I should engage my biceps or my hollow body more, but above all, I focused on completing the set repetitions. That's what allowed me to make progress within the day's routine. In contrast, I saw several colleagues who unfortunately went into training without focus, simply doing whatever came to mind based on how they felt, and honestly, I don't recommend it. Even for the most basic exercises, it's key to be present in body and mind, as that's the only way to build strength, endurance, or those valuable seconds in an isometric position.
Muchachos, hay que tomarse en serio cada serie si de verdad queremos progresar, si buscamos subir de nivel, si deseamos fortalecernos. La verdadera disciplina está en la concentración, en saber dónde colocamos la tensión, qué músculo debe trabajar y cómo lo debe hacer. Esa atención al detalle es lo que marca la diferencia. Por eso espero que este consejo les sea útil, porque para mí ha sido la clave para volver con fuerza a entrenar calistenia. Guys, you have to take each set seriously if you really want to progress, if you're looking to level up, if you want to get stronger. True discipline lies in concentration, in knowing where to place the tension, which muscle should be working, and how to do it. That attention to detail is what makes the difference. That's why I hope this advice is useful to you, because for me it's been the key to returning to calisthenics training with strength.
