Technology has come a long way in shaping the way we live and enhancing various lifestyles. Infusion technology into our world has brought about the application of scientific knowledge, tools, and techniques to solve problems that were difficult to manoeuvre and also improve their processes which in turn helped to achieve specific goals. Examples of areas where technology is taking over is in the areas of Information Technology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, renewable energy, transportation, cryptocurrency, Blockchain, artificial intelligence, robotics, 3d printing and so much more. All these have proven helpful by reducing the workload of humans as they have been efficient and durable.
No doubt there are various devices that has in one way or the other that has help many people to do things better than they normally would. I remember back then when we used to send letters to families and friends that would sometimes take days before reaching the recipient. But during the tenure of our former president Obasanjo, he introduce mobile phones , that helped us communicate better and those that could not afford it would go to specific areas called call centers to make calls at specific amounts depending on the minutes of time used. Now smartphones have taken over in our contemporary world, these gadget has become a Revolutionized communication that allows access to information. Humans can now perform everyday tasks like banking, shopping, and navigation right from their location and comfort space.
Ever since I saw this prompt for the #february inleo Initiatives, my fellow women folks came to mind, especially black women who have issues with their reproductive system and the uterus in general. Sometimes it is disheartening how society labels women as barren because they can give birth at certain times without knowing the cause of their predicament. Although, technology has been put in place to help with surgeries that are considered as non invasive has been implemented, but I believe we can do better.
I believe that for women with A non-invasive device that could handle ovarian cysts, cervical cancer, uterine fibroids, myoma, polycystic syndrome, endometriosis, blocked tube and so on, should have a device that would solve these problems without having to do with an after effect like the current technological devices do. With a credible device a woman's life will be saved, so even if a woman has any issue with her uterus, she does not have to pass through the knife but rather a device that will make it painless and seamless. One that will not cause weight gain, infertility, bloating, pain, cramps, and all the after effects of surgeries.
In view of this, reversible contraceptive device could be implemented that mimics the function of a uterus and can also provide a safe and effective alternative to traditional birth control methods. This way,it would empower individuals to control their reproductive health without the need for invasive procedures or long-term hormonal interventions. Sometimes, I wonder why a device that can ease these tumors but benign and malignant has not be implemented over the year. Currently every 8 in 10 women are victims of this situation. No one knows the cause but claims that hormonal imbalances causes it.
In essence, if there could be wearable device produced for monitoring and managing menstrual health,so that women can notice immediately when things go wrong and find a solution immediately. This would greatly impact women's lives. This device could track menstrual cycles, ovulation and hormonal changes.
