Christmas Charity Events

Poverty is really a disease amongst people, that it makes them do the Unthinkable. In many third world countries, 70% of the people are hungry and can basically provide from themselves. We get to see that the poverty rate is so high to the extent that people cannot afford the basic amenities of life. Some people have taken to begging as a means of survival in these kind of countries while others have engaged in vices like stealing, selling of fake products, deceit, scamming and so many more. This has become an issue for the country at large, as these people are being taken advantage of, even philanthropist who are supposed to help the masses in this situation supposedly use them to satisfy their own selfish desires to gain fame and enrich themselves via means of social media platforms.

The severe economic challenges and desperation amongst the populace in 3rd world countries have made them victims of death, the struggle to get free foods, so as to cater for the family is so intense that they neglect precautions. On many occasions, people are invited to charity events where philanthropist share food items for the less privilege such as rice, beans, groundnut oil, sachet tomatoes, noodles, spaghetti and so on. Sometimes these events can be successful and at other times it could have a tragic end.

For some people, these December 2024 can be regarded as a black December for them while others are merrying and celebrating the festive moments. Recently, people have faced a tragic end in these events due to the cause of stampedes in charity event centers. Unfortunately, this happened in different states across the country. For instance, a formal Queen who had the plight of the people in mind decided to give back to her community by organizing a charity event with plenty of food stuffs. But unfortunately, the people were so hungry to the point that they had no regard for humanity or the lives of the people around them that they had to struggle for the food items.

This led to the death of many people both women, men and children. It was such a sad moment for the families involved and the country at large, because somehow if the necessary Implementation to alleviate hunger in the country was carried out, people would not have to depend on other for a living or to sustain their families. The government is so non-chalant about the peoples plight, that things have gotten so expensive, the minimum wage cannot cater for the peoples monthly needs, transportation has affected the prices of goods and services.

Some days back, I saw a video of a long queue of people waiting outside in the cold because they heard that the president was in the town and they were hoping that he could give them something for the festive period. This cold weather can be so bad for people's health that it can cause health issues.

In conclusion, the death of people from different states in the stampedes caused by different charity event centre's is so disheartening and somehow a shame to the government who has failed in its responsibility to provide for its citizens.
