It's the beginning of the new week and it's been amazing so far because the weather has been nice and everyone has been partaking in their duties accordingly. But for the purpose of this prompt, I want to relay how my weekend was with watching the trendy South Korean movie titled "dear Hongrang". It is an interesting piece with an amazing plot that starred great actors that bodied their roles magnificently, some of these actors are Lee Jae wook, Jo bo ah, Jung ha ran and many more. This movie is exceptional as it was set in the historical Joseon period which is like the old times of Korea.

Summary of the movie

The movie "dear Hongrang" is an historical drama coupled with mystery and psychological trauma as experienced by the protagonist of the movie. The movie is about a sister named Jae Yi, who lost her brother at a very tender age. However, Hongrang reappears after 12 years but she was suspicious and oblivious of the fact that he was not her lost brother.

One of the reasons why Hongrang is impersonating the son of the Merchant is because he had lived a traumatic childhood and intend to seek Justice in the community by finding out the perpetrators of the evil That was carried out on him during his younger years. Apparently, when he was younger, a "snowman" captured him and they torture him to the point that a painter whi was obsessed with being a deity used harmful substance on their bodies so that he could draw a talisman on their backs for human sacrifice.

Hongrang was able to escape and seek Justice but the chemicals used on him where a threat to his health. In the cause of seeking Justice, he fell in love with his supposed sister. At the end he got Justice by finding out the evil men and killing them, he also died.

In this world that we live in, there are people who do not care the amount of damaged they do or inflict on their neighbors or fellow human beings just because they are greedy and selfish. All they aim to acquire is power to be strong and fearful. Take for instance the protagonist Hongrang, whose childhood trauma was so devastating because of the difficult experience where a painter who was greedy and selfish and wanted to be powerful would you use children body to draw talisman and later sacrifice them to become a superior being.

The movie was quite an interesting watch coupled with action, one of the things that fascinated me to the movie is the way that the actor Lee Jae Wook embodied this character and the aura he gave as the protagonist. The way he handled the Sword in the movie goes to show that he was the perfect fit for the job and he got the ladies/ audience falling for him.
