NATIONAL TREE DAY: THE CELEBRATION OF TREES IN NIGERIA // DÍA NACIONAL DEL ÁRBOL: LA CELEBRACIÓN DE LOS ÁRBOLES EN NIGERIA

We are all aware that natural resources are necessary to tackle some natural disasters that could happen over, this is why the unlawful felling of trees in prohibited in some certain countries. In my country Nigeria, some places are heavily congested with buildings that you would not find a tree in sight, then you wonder how the wind is controlled to avoid the disasters of windstorm. A city like Lagos where people are heavily congested and landlords build houses out of selfish reasons to make room, build houses that are not air cuducive and people do not have choices.

The planting of Trees and the preservation of trees come to play in important role in our environment and even the well-being of human beings. This is why I am a fan of village settings or compounds that are spacious and still have trees in them. They are so beneficial for several reasons, children would gather round under the trees to play games and be merry, it brought about unity and harmony in community. This is why we are glad and grateful for childhood memories because we can have them again and we utilized them well. In villages, the difference is very clear, in people's compounds they plant fruit trees like mango, pawpaw, coconut, flowers, soursop, plantains, palm kernel and so on.

One thing about trees in our surroundings is that it brings a natural fresh air, unlike in the cities where people are relegated to artificial air generated from air conditioners, electric fan, solar fan and so on. Just like in this place I stay, people still maintain a natural habitat and keep the greens alive. But unfortunCulturalhat is starting to reduce, as 10 years later houses and structure are beginning to take ovhomage subsequent time in this blog I would show the before and after when I moved in to my apartment, at first it was all trees ain thehes and we enjoyed how the squirrels and birds would run around.

In view of all that has been said, we would realize that trees are celebrated in Nigeria both culturally or traditionally and in the national level. Cultural, some particular set of trees are regarded as sacred deities that people worship and pay homage, from research it has been known that these sacred trees answer their prayers and prosper them. Also, trees are celebrated in the national level as a day is set aside termed "national tree planting day", during this course, Nigerians are advised to plant trees that would aim at promoting reforestation and environmental conservation.

Todos sabemos que los recursos naturales son necesarios para hacer frente a algunos desastres naturales que podrían ocurrir, por eso la tala ilegal de árboles está prohibida en algunos países. En mi país, Nigeria, algunos lugares están tan congestionados que no se ve ni un solo árbol, así que uno se pregunta cómo se controla el viento para evitar los desastres de las tormentas de viento. Una ciudad como Lagos, donde la gente está muy congestionada y los propietarios construyen casas por razones egoístas para hacer espacio, construyen casas que no son aptas para el aire y la gente no tiene opciones.

La plantación de árboles y su conservación juegan un papel importante en nuestro medio ambiente e incluso en el bienestar de los seres humanos. Por eso soy partidaria de los entornos de pueblos o complejos que son espaciosos y aún tienen árboles. Son muy beneficiosos por varias razones: los niños se reunían bajo los árboles para jugar y divertirse, y eso generaba unidad y armonía en la comunidad. Por eso nos alegramos y agradecemos los recuerdos de la infancia porque los podemos tener de nuevo y los aprovechamos bien. En los pueblos la diferencia es muy clara, en los recintos de las personas se plantan árboles frutales como mango, papaya, coco, flores, guanábana, plátano, palmiste, etc.

Una cosa Lo bueno de los árboles en nuestro entorno es que aportan un aire fresco natural, a diferencia de las ciudades, donde la gente se ve relegada al aire artificial generado por aires acondicionados, ventiladores eléctricos, ventiladores solares, etc. Al igual que en este lugar en el que vivo, la gente todavía mantiene un hábitat natural y mantiene viva la vegetación. Pero, por desgracia, eso está empezando a reducirse, ya que 10 años después, las casas y las estructuras están empezando a cobrar homenaje. La próxima vez en este blog mostraré el antes y el después de mudarme a mi apartamento. Al principio, todo eran árboles y disfrutábamos de cómo las ardillas y los pájaros corrían por ahí.

En vista de todo lo que se ha dicho, nos daríamos cuenta de que los árboles se celebran en Nigeria tanto culturalmente o tradicionalmente como a nivel nacional. Culturalmente, un grupo particular de árboles se considera deidades sagradas a las que la gente adora y rinde homenaje; a partir de las investigaciones se ha sabido que estos árboles sagrados responden a sus oraciones y los hacen prosperar. Además, los árboles se celebran a nivel nacional ya que se reserva un día denominado "día nacional de plantación de árboles", durante el cual se aconseja a los nigerianos que planten árboles que tengan como objetivo promover la reforestación y la conservación del medio ambiente.
