MIGRATION OFFER NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Migration and cultural diversity are an integral part of a Communities history or background. For Migration, there are different reasons why people migrate from their home country to another, this could be positive and impactful or have negative challenges. The purpose of migration for so many people, is to create a balance between two cultural groups.

Hence, it is safe to say that migration drives cultural diversity by incorporating other people's tradition into their own. Take for instance, the Western style of dressing is one that has been incorporated into the traditional Styles system of Africans based on the fact that migration has brought about a diversity in different cultural heritage.

Usually, the marriage ceremony in Nigeria was strictly based on traditional cultural marriage where the bride and groom carry out the process of their marriage by dressing in their culture, performing rite and everything in between. But now, the people have incorporated the western style of wedding, where the bride is dresses in a white flowing gown.

Like I mentioned earlier, the purpose of migration can bring about positive contribution both to the home country and the Host country. For instance, there are countries where they have labor shortages hence, these receiving countries employ migrants who are skilled in various labor, people come into the country to work and this boost the economical system. Labor shortages could be in the areas of Healthcare, agriculture, technology, artisans and so on. People apply for these jobs in these countries and they are employed either as contract staffs or permanent Staffs. They are offered work visas to help them leave their countries to work.

Based on experience, another reason why people migrate from one country to another is for the purpose of getting new opportunities and making their lives better. Many people migrate because of better educational opportunity, we find out that these developed countries offer scholarships and fundings to underdeveloped countries to enable their students gain knowledge and access to you better educational equipment and Resources. In view of this, we can see that migration has helped people to become better and to acquire opportunities that would be better for their personal growth and development.

While there are positive effects to migrating from your home country they would definitely be some negative challenges a person would face because it is a natural occurrence to encounter these challenges. One of the greatest challenge a person might face is discrimination, it is a very Common vice where people can discriminate or exploit you in a new environment.

Again the issue of adaptation is very Common People find it hard in the first few months of migrating to settle in and fend for themselves, these poses great challenges, people are made to settle for less because they are ignorant of how things are in the new environment.
