In our contemporary world, getting a dream job has proven to be difficult over time based on the fact that the economic situation of the society we live in has a way of tampering with our choices in life. Remember when we were kids and we were asked what we would like to be when we grow up, most of us will say doctors, lawyers, teachers, pilots, fashion designers, nurse and so on, but then we were ignorant of the fact that there are many obligations to fulfill before we can attain such height. Over time, factors that can hinder an individual from achieving their set goals or landing their dream jobs some of these includes: lack of financial capability to attain what would drive their passion to getting their dream jobs, lack of resources, endangerment, distractions, lack of skills, failure, fear, political factors, procrastination etc.

It is safe to say that we were all being childish with our decisions back in the days when we wanted an exotic and sophisticated dream jobs. At the time of attending my secondary school, I had a passion to study the English language and this was so because I did extremely well in my English subjects right from my junior secondary year to my senior secondary year. I loved every aspect of the English language ranging from comprehension, letter writing, phonics, pronunciation, pragmatics, semantics, phonology, syntax and so on.

One thing I have come to realize is the fact that, Dream jobs are valid it just depend on the fact that they can evolve over time and this is dependent on a person's perspective of life and the circumstances surrounding their choices and decisions. When I discovered I had a passion for English language, I decided that was what I was going to study in the university. One of my major aim was to venture into mass communication but that was not possible, so I had to take English and literary studies. I remember when we were young we would always watch the 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. news on NTA channel and my father would make sure we stayed to watch the news so as to be aware of the happenings in our country Nigeria.

While watching the news, I fell in love with how the newscasters carried out their jobs the likes of Cyril Stoba and Co, They were a motivation for me. So my dream job was to be a newscaster, radio presenter, writer or something around that field. So far so good, I have been able to achieve been a writer and content creator, but still working towards achieving my job in TV stations or radio stations.

This is a part of my entry for the #februaryinleo prompt as organized by the @leogrowth team with great initiative that members of Hive you can participate in this prompt and tackle them as you deem fit. In collaboration with @hivenaija community.

I never really understood the concept of a dream job, I thought a time will come when I ll see myself as a Pilot or so in a dream.

Until I met someone who told me I could be a Doctor. After that.. I no gree hear word again.
