DIVIDING LABOR IS EFFICIENT TO GET THE WORK DONE
It is always a known fact that division of labor allows people to work efficiently and accordingly, to perform what they can do. It save time and allows for multitasking as the case may be. Although, some human beings can be difficult to control in some settings situations but the truth of it is that when people organize themselves properly it would allow for a smooth running of that task. As a Nigerian somehow we are accustomed to people neglecting efficiency and adopting a rough approach. For example, when you ask people to queue on a line so that it can be quick and efficient to handle but rather they prefer to jump the line or just scatter the line.
While, sometimes division of labor works properly, other times it could be a flop because of lack of cooperation but I have also witnessed some situations where as students we had to divide the work equally to people who has talent in different areas to get the job done. One time in school, we were organizing a picnic amongst ourselves the Catholic youths of the church. As postgraduate students and tin make our stay in School interesting, we decided to share the task amongst ourselves so as to reduce cost of buying products and paying for people services.
When this decision was made, we realized that amongst ourselves who were having a formal education, we had people who have talents and vocational skills in different areas that can help to lighten the burden of finance. Hence, to make the Picnic interesting we deliberated amongst ourselves and people came forward as volunteers. There were those who volunteered to decorate the space were going to use, we also had a different set of people who volunteered to cook the food and another set to prepare the snacks also called small chops.
Some other persons did other task such as sourcing for board games such as Ludo, Monopoly, snake and the ladder, chess, Scrabble and so on. While the committee itself settled the Venue, the location, the logistics to ensure that all was a perfect order. And to the amazing surprise of everyone it came out to perfect the space was properly decorated, the games were unique we even had physical games, the food was delicious. Everyone contributed their own quota to bring about the success of the picnic but in their hardworking and in kind.
In conclusion, the division of labour is efficient to reduce cost and to ensure everyone contributes a thing or two. Also from my o servation, it brings about Togetherness as everything is done with love rather than expecting to get paid at the end. For me I belive in the power of Togetherness and this cannot be achieved in isolation void of our human capacity and capabilities.
