CONNECTION OF ART AND MIND

Mere looking at a picture, you can deduce several meanings from it. Art speaks to the mind and give different perspectives in accordance with the visuals represented. Artist do not just paint or draw in isolation they use their works to describe emotions and feelings, inspiration is often transferred into their works. Everyone in contact with a great work of art will definitely have an interpretation to give to it, it maybe that of love, survival, longing, life, struggle and so on. Mere taking of pictures can represent a whole lot.

As we can see, the image above depicts to me, a mother and her loving daughter in African prints have a moment of love and connection between mother and child

When I say art can communicate with emotions or feelings, sometimes while driving past, along the roads we see different display of framed work of art. One that has caught my attention so far is where a black woman, tying a wrapper with her baby strapped behind her back pounding yam and at the same time cooking at the background. Mere looking at the picture as a woman, I can relate through the picture that the woman has a lot of responsibilities to carry out and those are just few of them. She has to take care of the baby and at the same time provide food for the family to eat.

While I can ascribe a certain kind of meaning to a work of art, another person could give a different meaning to that same painting, this is why art is subjective, it has no one direct meaning and it is broad. Art can come in various forms, pictures, sculptures, music, poems, painting, literature and so on. Through music, there is always a connection between the mind and what is been played. This is why there are many genres of musics released across the globe today and they speak in one way or another to the person listening to them.

No doubt, art has distinct and a unique way to resonate with individuals. It stimulates their intellect, imagination, and emotions. You might see a work of art and become emotional because it is speaking direction to you soul and feel the psychic connection.
