It's been a sad day so far as there is unrest in some parts of the country and people are scared and in fear for the safety of their lives. Now this is not just about the perpetrators of evil but even the innocent are getting a share of their evil deeds. A lot of insecurities has been going on in the country and somehow the government seem to leave the Fate of the people in their own hands. Evil is been carried out daily and justice is not been served. Ifs is not about inflation, decrease in naira value, corruption, greed, incessant harassment, debt, economic recession and so on, it's gruesome killing of innocent citizens or kidnappings requesting for exorbitant release fees.

Although I have been hearing the story of how some Nigerian military personnel were captured but I thought it would have been settled on death with since last week, only to come on the internet today to see houses in the village in Delta state were the 16 soldiers were killed been razed down by fire all in the name of revenge. It was actually gathered that a total of sixteen Nigerian army soldiers were killed in Okuama community of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State where they were ambushed by residents of the community. All these because of a land dispute, it's a common thing in these villages.

Apparently, what happened exactly was that, last week there was a clash between two communities and it resulted into a crisis, as usual to make peace reign and reduce the tension, soldiers were sent to the location to handle the situation but in getting there, reverse was the case as the troop was ambushed by some youths of the community and killed them in cold blood. This angered other soldiers and they sought to avenge the death of their colleagues. The painful part of the whole thing is that these soldiers were not just murdered but their bodies were mutilated and thrown into the river. Some were beheaded, others their stomachs, intestines and heart were ripped out and left to float on the river.

Amongst those that were killed were major generals, captains and soldiers. In the news this morning the president had expressed his condolences to the families of those affected by the killing and the loss of their loved ones. Also, as the commander-in-chief of the federal republic of Nigeria, he had promised that the perpetrators of such heinous act would be brought to justice and punished accordingly. So far so good, some arrest have to made.

However, the colleagues of those who were brutally murdered have refused to let the government handle the matter but have taken it upon themselves to seek revenge by burning down the houses in the community including the innocent. This has escalated to a point that people are fleeing the community for their dear life and seeking refuge where they can. This is really not the way to go.

This is what is currently happening in a state in the country of Nigeria and we pray and hope that this does not escalate into something big.
