APPRECIATING WORKERS WHO ARE DEDICATED TO THEIR JOBS
The term labor day is used to refer
to the special day set aside to celebrate workers in al fields and it is considered a public holiday but in Nigeria, we call it "workers day". As we currently speak, today was a day of relaxation from work stress and what made it better is the heavy rain that fell early in the morning, it kept the atmosphere cold and breezy, I enjoyed the day. The workers day is celebrated in Nigeria on the first day of May every year. Depending on the organization it is celebrated by honoring workers for their contribution towards the community and the nation at large, in some companies, schools or organizations they organized picnics, fun events or small merriments to go around.
I am passing on a glad that there is a day like this because it is not easy for workers to go through the whole year without having a break or without this celebrated for their hard work and dedication to their organizations. In view of this blog I want to take the time out to appreciate my mom who is hardworking and dedicated to whatever she is doing. She is a civil servant who worked as a teacher in edo state for 30 years and served as a headmistress but 5 years before she later retired at 35 years of service. During her time of walking she was always punctual dedicated hardworking and ready to impact knowledge to the children in school, lest I forget she was and is a disciplinarian. She didn't stop at that upon retiring it is expected that they relax and settle down to rest but she had to take up the job of a vice principal in a new school by the Catholic Church as a volunteer service to the community.
I also celebrate my dad who was also in the civil service and worked straight up for 35 years as a retired as a principal in the secondary school. He was very hard working punctual and a strict disciplinary. The lives of my parents has been an exemplary method that guides me to do better in whatever I find myself doing. I have grown to watch them do things responsibly punctually and in the right order.
I also use this medium to celebrate everyone's hard work can dedication and commitment to their jobs, it's really not easy for people to combine life hurdles and also give their best at their working place. Especially in Nigeria's where things are on the high side where people have to wake up as early as 4:00 a.m. to hustle for buses so as to get to work on time the struggle alone is enough to respect people who specifically give their all.
It's so sad to see that some bosses are so demeaning and unappreciative of their staffs dedication and hard work. one time we met a lady who works at a salon for her boss on getting to the shop, she had sweat the entire place she had dusted the place she had set everything in place for the business of day but unfortunately the boss was not satisfied with what she did he even his her in the process and called her lazy and retarded. It was so sad and I realized that in everything we do you should keep compliments to those who deserve it and they would put in all their dedication and positivity into getting better results at the job.
