The Crochet Obsession - 'Silloth' Hanging Ornament

avatar

Greetings Friends

If right now I were to be given the choice to go anywhere in the world, I would immediately answer Silloth. I am not going to get into a whole travel post on why it is the coolest place to visit. (the history alone is fascinating enough to fill a book)

This little ornament is actually part of a bigger piece and goes with the moon and sun crochet ornament I made a few weeks ago. I might add more hanging pieces to it in the future, it is what I consider a living project, so it'll change based on circumstances and my feelings about things.

Not counting the ribbon part, this took 20 pieces to complete, which might not seem a lot, but was overall fiddly, especially on assembly. I enjoyed learning to make the letters though.

Pattern Used - https://www.mooglyblog.com/lowercase-alphabet/ Note: I only used these as a base to figure out how to create my own version of the letters as I wanted a slightly different shape, not one of these was made according to the pattern, but it is a great learning resource for anyone who would like to attempt something like this.

While working on other projects, I had SI hanging around here over two weeks, until I finally managed to finish this piece. I quite like it, very simple but cute.

Well that's it for now. Till next time!
