The Crochet Obsession - Part 2 - Cats, Bats, Birds, Hearts & Dolls
Greetings Hive Friends!
Part 2, here we go. I decided to get a little bit more creative and try my own thing with a few of these, for most of them, I had not yet learnt how to make the eye.
The crazy eyes cat...He looks a little bit wired, but I like him well enough.
(Cannot find the original pattern, will link in comments once I track it down)
This one also has a pretty crazy looking face, but this time it was done on purpose. I love his huge ears. A stone at the base of the cat helps him stay upright. I always use old scraps of material from clothes and things that aren't nice enough to donate as I do not have any proper stuffing. Use what you have, nothing needs to go to waste.

This little cat was insanely fun to make and used some very interesting tricks with yarn and tension to give it a more sculpted look. It is one of my absolute favourites, the face isn't perfect yet but I like it too.

A tiny little bat. So cute! Also very happy with his little eyes.

We call this on Bun with Wings, he is based on a real cat, and somehow the addition of wings made sense. He was created by combining the previous two patterns.
This adorable little heart is so easy, quick and addictive to make. I am completely set on secretly making a whole box full of them and dumping them out over my partner on valentines morning. I show affection in weird ways I guess.

I feel that I messed this one up quite a bit, it was possibly a little bit beyond my skill level at the time, but as a gift, it was well received at least.

Though cute, this one definitely needs a second attempt. I am not fully happy with him. Might just be an overstuffed head though.

With these...mistakes were made, so so many mistakes, but I absolutely adore them, even though their hair is absolutely atrocious. I have since learnt a better way to do the hair and will definitely be attempting to create another set of J&S dolls. This set also needs to be completed as they need faces and tattoos still. I used the same pattern for both dolls but stuck closer to it for the male doll. For the female, I tried to scale everything down, give her slightly more feminine proportions and make her shorter, though she is still taller than she should be. J&S 2.0 will be better but these will definitely end up displayed somewhere, even if just for giggles.

All in all, there has been some minor improvement in my toy making skills, which makes me happy as I really enjoy making them.
In Part 3 I will cover : The Red Pig (Which is a cat and gave me endless headaches), Little Halloween Cat (with hat), A very cute sitting cat, Realistic almost life sized cat with the cutest toes, a doll with much better hair and dress from my own pattern and a very weird single fingered glove of my own creation.....also a bonus cat photo. All patterns are free and will be linked in post.
Well that's it for now. Till next time!

Hello! Your amigurumis are very nice, the first one reminds me of toothless from the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy I think the amigurumis couple is fine, I find it difficult to crochet people...
Thank you! I didn't see it until now but it definitely looks like Toothless, now I want to make one. Crocheting people is definitely not easy but I enjoy the challenge and look forward to trying again, would like to make the more realistic people soon.
Excellent work, although I'm afraid of bats, some of them are very cute.
Thank you. Afraid of bats? Why? I mostly don't see them around here as my cats will try to hunt them. They are very naughty cats
Aww how cute😍
Thank you so much.
