Sketchbook 049 - 'Frantic Energy' Mushroom Painting (With Video)

Greetings Hive!

The original painting was just a black canvas with colourful cloud like shapes. After about eight years it became a very simple painting of some mushrooms over the coloured parts.

It was....well a little bit boring really, but it sort of just sat there for about two years, forgotten and hidden halfway behind a curtain.

Recently, I had a surge of inspiration courtesy of my ever so interesting muse. So out came the gold markers and paint pens. The mushrooms needed LIFE and ENERGY.

For the background I decided to go with a blend of both calm and frantic energy, a contrast of emotions of sorts.

Well that's it for today, till next time!

They're now full of life and energy! Love the color combination and the black background with gold markers, so much seems to be happening on the painting now :)

Thanks! They were fun to paint. Might do one with a cat in the same style.

you are 100% right! Perhaps i need to get myself some black paper (or even regular white paper to start) and actually make use of the stationery, like my glitter pens and special pencil crayons, and get back into drawing these. I drew hundreds of them as a teen instead of writing exams 😜 I think it would be far more healthy creative outlet now! I jst need to figure out pixies, gnomes and butterflies!

I need some new pens though... and pencil crayons since the boys both keep stealing/ borrowing my special ones for birthday cards. I do have enough to start though! So no excuses!
