Fashion Illustration 012 - Playful Polkadot Dress (With process & Video)
Greetings!
A fitted pink dress adorned with black polka dots. The dress features a halter neckline with a bow detail at the front and lacing on the side.
This is my third attempt at digital colouring and the first one I actually liked, even though I am not completely happy with it yet. Everything is a process though, and learning is proving to be rather entertaining.
Process - Old Sketch to Digital Illustration
Original sketch in fineliner and acrylic paint. (2017)
Updated sketch in ballpoint pen.
Experimenting with skin base and shading.
The hair brush is fun and will probably look great once I am more skilled in using it.
Burred shading, Do not think this will be my technique of choice for future works.
Colouring process video - Hyperlapse
Well that's it for now. Till next time!

I like it ! I'd so love to see some of your designs turned into actual real-world things. You've got a talent for design, and I reckon it could even turn into a business for you. 😀
Thank you! It might be worth considering someday when I have the skills to do more than just draw these.
Go for it ! The best way to get good at sewing is just to practice, starting with simple small things. Or find a local friend who is good enough to make the designs into patterns and can teach you the techniques you need to use.
Sadly, all my experience is with historical clothing, and modern fabrics are utterly weird, all slippery and stretchy compared to wool, linen and cotton !
